Hayward 1.5 dual speed Super Pump issue

Thanks. Maybe I will call the people who installed it back to take a look at it.

Hayward 1.5 dual speed Super Pump issue

Hey all, I just had the pump motor replaced. Same one which was about three years old. It is a Hayward 1.5 dual speed Super Pump. I never noticed this on the old one but ever since the replacement, the pump seems to be fluctuating between 1.5 and .5 on its own. At least that is what it...

Excellent thank you. I will begin reading and sleeping right now :) You guys are the best! Appreciate all of it.

Last few questions before placing automation order

Wow. That gives me a lot to think about :) I never even really considered a separate pump for the spa. Everything seems to work very well with just the 1 pump but I definitely see all the advantages you are talking about. This might be getting a little over my head since I can't even figure out...

Last few questions before placing automation order

Mitch, I agree with upgrading to an IntelliFlo pump, but for now you can just get a 2-speed relay for your IntelliCenter. The automation will switch speeds depending on your programming. The IC60 will work fine, but so will the IC40.. The IC40 will just get "used up" quicker... Just like a...

Last few questions before placing automation order

Thanks very much for all the info. So all that being said, 1 more silly question. Is it better to run for shorter times at a higher percentage or longer run times at a shorter percentage? Or is it all the same thing anyway? Because now that I am doing the pool math, it might make sense for me...

Last few questions before placing automation order

Hey all, Placing the order for intellicenter / IC60 in the next couple of days. Just have a few final questions: My pool is about 25k gallons. Is it possible the ic60 is too big? I spoke to a couple of 'pool reps' from large resellers who told me it will produce too much chlorine. ( they also...

    Intellicenter / ic60 combo

It definitely does thanks. They told me the version I will be getting is upgradable but I think I will call back and ask for more specifics. Thanks a lot.

    Intellicenter / ic60 combo

I just got in touch with Polytech and they pointed me to this part number. Anyway you can take a quick look and tell me if I am missing anything? https://www.polytecpools.com/Pentair-IntelliCenter-i5PSIC60-Kit--Pool-and-Spa-with-Load-Center-and-IC60_p_9512.html Thanks so much

    Intellicenter / ic60 combo

Silly question. I closed late last year and the pool is going to be a disaster when I open. Should I open first, get it all cleaned out and perfect, and then have the swg and automation installed? Or is there no reason for that and I should just have it all done at the same time? Thanks again

    Intellicenter / ic60 combo

Ha. Yeah I know it is crazy. But I've never had an issue with keeping the pool crystal clear so I just go with it. I don't really see a significant difference in cost. Or at least I am ignorant to it :) Thanks for your help. I will probably be putting it in within 2 or 3 weeks so I will have a...

    Intellicenter / ic60 combo

Thanks. It is a Hayward pump. I only use the fastest speed and I let it run 24/7 :) I don't want to change that because I have had great success that way for over a decade. So I will need to figure out how to configure the salt system for a system that is running 24 / 7. Will 5 relays be enough?

    Intellicenter / ic60 combo

Hey all, Things to all of your help Im just about ready to pull the trigger on the intellicenter / ic60 combo. I just have a few general questions and concerns before I make the purchase this week. All of my equipment is from different manufacturers. My pool is about 25,000 gallons. Spillover...

    Paver restoration question

Hey all, So I have a paver patio, pool surround, fire pit area, Etc. Typical Cambridge pavers. You know the kind that has that special coating that is supposed to never wear off, which wears off in about 2 years :) So anyway they are about 12 years old and definitely looking their age. Very...

    Pentair IntelliCenter Review and Information

Excellent review and information. Thank you for starting this thread. Thanks to the help of many people on this board, I am going to be getting the intellicenter / ic60 combo in about a month. This post will be a very good reference :)

    Pool automation / swg

That is a great idea and will save me about $200. I did not realize you can just upgrade the cell itself when you want to. Thanks. That is what I am leaning towards now.

    Pool automation / swg

Just realized by reading another thread that the intellicenter has screenlogic functionality built in. So right there that is another $300 to $400. That brings the price much closer. That said... I can get the intellicenter from them for $1,600 and buy the ic60 separately for about $700...

    Pool automation / swg

Interesting. They told me there is a 5 relay version and an 8 relay version. The $2,600 they quoted me was for the 5 relays, 2 actuators, and ic60. He actually told me that right now the combo that they sell only comes with the ic40 so to put in the ic60 they are charging the difference which...

    Pool automation / swg

I took your advice and gave them a call. They want right about $2,600 for the combo. So it is significantly more expensive. I have a few months to decide if I'm going to go with the older version or newer version. But I'm glad I have all the info. Thanks

    Pool automation / swg

I will check out the newer model. It looks like it is a bit hard to find still. Can you just do me a quick favor and tell me if this is everything I need? Pentair EasyTouch 8SC-IC60 Pool and Spa Control with IC60 Cell

Salt water taste - minimum salt level

That's actually a great idea I think I might try that. The salt pool didn't really taste salty to me. It was just off putting because the water almost seemed like it tasted sweaty. In fact that is probably the best comparison. Especially when the water is warm it had a sweaty feel / taste to it...

    Pool automation / swg

Thanks everyone. You convinced me I will go with a straight Pentair System including the 60k cell. Jim: I've been a member of this board forever. Many people have been very helpful, but nobody took the time to explain and diagram things out the way you did. You gave me a crash course on how...

    Pool automation / swg

Ok cool. I really do have my mind set on the CircuPool RJ-60 PLUS. Just because everything I am reading is so positive. The 3 lbs of output a day really seem to set it apart. As long as I can use a relay to turn it off in Spa mode, I think I will be okay. But if I also want to control the...

    Pool automation / swg

Thank you so much! You have been such an incredible help I cannot tell you how much I appreciate it. But every time you tell me something it gives me more questions that I did not think of before :) So that is perfect. I can just leave the thing set at 104 or whatever and the automation will...
