Please read the link provided regarding FC/CYA. Using the pool math app 1.5 gallons of 10% LC will add approx 5.9 ppm of FC.

If your CYA truly is 80 you shouldn't have lowered your chlorine level. Please dont add anything else other than liquid chlorine until YOU test your own water. You need to add 5ppm of liquid chlorine in a day until your test kit arrives and you can find out your actual levels.

The added DE is very useful during SLAM to get rid of the very last of the dead algae.

You’re going to have to get to all surfaces of the cover and housing and clean it all inside and out.
