CSI is below 0.6 - cause for concern?

Ah yes, I forgot to sign it. :) I had the TA down as 55, but I think it's meant to be rounded to 60. That small change produces -0.51 CSI. I put acid in 3 weeks ago as the PH was 8.2 or more. The cooler weather (and maturing plaster) + no SWG running seem to reduce the acid demand but haven't...

CSI is below 0.6 - cause for concern?

Hi, The CSI reading below was 0.7 a couple weeks ago when the PH was mid 7s. I had just added acid. I am curious if this is something to be concerned about or nothing. Until the weather cooled off CSI was close to 0. Latest Test Result Summary: FC: 8.0 (13 minutes ago)...

Did Leslie’s take me to the cleaner

Sounds like you avoided getting taken for a ride! I had a similar experience. The manager explained patiently to me that "you won't know this," but "for summer, you'll need a couple buckets of the shock over there" ($300 a pop), plus some Mighty Brighty ($$$), and a couple of gallons of Ultimate...

Any idea what's going on here?

That was my initial thought because it's only appearing in certain places. The demolition crew was very skilled but it was a demo job - stuff gets broken. And some tiles were broken and replaced, and cracks in the grout were fixed.

Any idea what's going on here?

Hmm, Efflorescence. Maybe. While it has been a long time since it has rained here, the sprinklers could make up for that by enveloping the pool in water. Thank you for the links; they were exciting and educational. If one assumes pools := bridges and buildings, I should see skyrocketing ph, but...

Any idea what's going on here?

Pool filled with water on 1-17. Pool maintained the TFP way from 2-7. The deck was demolished end of April and then repoured at the end of May. White stuff appears in some places but not in others. Latest Test Result Summary: FC: 11.0 (16 hours ago) CC...

    Taylor Salt Test q

I am using the Taylor chromate inidcator and silver nitride sold as a kit and recently as I add the reagent the mix (on a speedstir ) starts to become colloidal. Little floating globules of whatever appear. I do eventually touch the milky salmon 'stop' color but the tube looks a mess and if this...

When a pool build never ends

Aside from the filters getting a beating anything else worth noting?

When a pool build never ends

After a seemingly ok dig and build stage of the project, pretty much everything else went wrong. The list is long, and it is shameful. However, we were in sight of the end when they drilled the holes for the anchors for the pool cover we paid for but was never ordered. I believe it exists now...

Aside from CYA all good - or not

Probably need some more CYA but otherwise seems fine I think. Logs aren't 100% complete - missing some scrubs and a whole host of equipment changes and cartridge filter clean at the tender age of 2 weeks etc. Chems are largely accurate. https://troublefreepool.com/mypool/DQMNGM5

TF Pro Salt readout - 2.5 months after startup

35 I was about to share the log but I seem to have the first month showing on the ipad and the last month on my phone. Is there a merge option? Thanks.

TF Pro Salt readout - 2.5 months after startup

I test my pool almost daily because of a random element in the form of the PB but that's another story. Had it pretty cleanly balanced when they swapped out the final piece of the automation system and connected the SWCG correctly finaly and jacked the SWCG up to 65%. I measured CL and we...

    Pollen Sieve for Skimmer?

Hello! Our pool is receiving a lot of pollen from oak and various other forms of flora. It's just part of living somewhere with lots of beautiful trees and grasses. I would put the cover on for a few days but it hasn't arrived yet because the pool builder is plumbing new depths of incompetence...

    New Pool - levels q

Hello! Pool was started up exactly 4 weeks ago. I can't tell you what startup method was used because the Pool Builder relationshuip after that final check could be described as non-existent. So i ordered my TF101 - and it arrived quickly - and got testing. Its been cold here, so this saltwater...

We Have a Winner! TFP Pool of the Month (January 2023); Theme - Outdoor Kitchens

How and why did you find TFP?

I was looking for some kind of information beyond the conflicting stories from various other sites, the pool store, pool builder websites other than the one I used. There is a distinct air of mystery and nonsense around pools that seems tedious and suspect. It probably started when I said I...

    3 weeks post start up

Hello TFP Community, Pool Startup was a little over three weeks ago and the pool builder has become ever more disinterested. This may or may not be connected to the final check being cashed when they did the plastering. One gets the distinct impression that they're not as interested as they were...

Thanks you! I don't need a pro salt - got the speed stir already :) To use the discount you need to get the TF-100 (discount applies) and then add the salt reagent kit separately. I'm sure its just a bug in the checkout - thought you'd like to know though. $8 savings I know, but I'd want to...
