    Different salt ppm readings

Thanks a lot. I found the first of my issues. My CYA is way too low. Will be adding it until the CYA gets to an appropriate level.

    Different salt ppm readings

Yeah that is the problem. I tested the Chlorine on Friday and it was not registering. I poured a gallon of liquid chlorine into the pool on Friday and it now reports 0.5ppm (FC and CC) according to tftestkits. My pool is eating Chlorine (or not generating it) right now and I am trying to get...

    Different salt ppm readings

Hello all, Good morning! I have always assumed that the sensor for the SWG was more accurate than anything else. The SWG is reporting 3000 ppm. The C-600 from tftestkits and the Chlorox salt test strips are reporting ~2600ppm. Each 40lb bag of salt increases the ppm about 400 points so this...

Has anyone found a Glacier Cooler installer in the northern FL area (St Augustine)?

Thanks. I have contacted a few installers around my area and none of them have installed a Glacier. I have not talked to all the Leslies in the area though. With that said, I realized that I have a heat pump for the pool and it was set to 95 degrees. I also hired someone for "pool school"...

    Help me identify equipment please....

Man looks like I already have a heater/cooler as well. It's a SunBlazer Model SB128AHDSBLA. Apparently it's a rebadged AquaCal sold by Pinch-a-Penny. This is like opening a pack of cards and getting surprises....

    Help me identify equipment please....

Looks like I have an Intermatic T40004RT3 timer. I have been trying to figure out how to start it manually to get the waterfall and the filter to run. I have read the instructions and fiddled with it, but no luck. I have also looked for videos with this timer and not found much helpful.

    Help me identify equipment please....

Yes - it was just from the rain. I ran a pump to pull out about 3-4 inches of water.

Has anyone found a Glacier Cooler installer in the northern FL area (St Augustine)?

I am not opposed to doing it myself, but would prefer to get it done professionally. Has anyone found an installer to do the work in St Augustine? I am looking at the GPC-25. Thanks.

    Heater/Chiller Recommendations

Hello all, I have read that Glacier units work well until they don't. Once they break, I have read their support is non-existent especially under warranty. Does anyone have any experience here?

    Help me identify equipment please....

Helllo all, I have been in this house for just under 2 days. I know little or nothing about pools, equipment and maintenance. I have taken some pics to help here. First off, the pool is right at the rim. I expect this is not a good thing. Is there something that should be regulating this...

    Re-introducing myself

Hello all, I recently moved to St Augustine, FL and bought a house with a pool. It has been a long time since I have owned a pool so am coming back here to learn the basics. I just bought the TFT salt kit and hired Pinch a Penny to help me out until I can get the swing of things. I joined...

    How long should shocking take?

Yeah - this is exactly what I have been trying to avoid. I don't care about the money - it's the 300 gallons I want to avoid wasting.

    How long should shocking take?

OK - just picked up some Ahh-Some. Reading the instructions tells me that I drop a table spoon into the filled hot tub, let it filter for 20-30 mins, then drain it, clean it and re-fill it. Your instructions suggest otherwise. Can someone help me rationalize the difference? Thanks. Does...

    How long should shocking take?

Sorry meant Combined Chloramines (CC). I am using the TFTestKit and I am measuring 2 -3 X 0.5 ppm. The count hasn't dropped for days. It isn't BIO Population.

    How long should shocking take?

Hello all, I have been shocking my hot tub for days, but I can't the bacteria down below the recommended level. How long should shocking the hot tub take? I am getting fed up and am on the verge of dumping the water and just filling it back up again.
