Need input on choosing paint for coping

What spray paint did you use for your coping? I'm also getting a new liner in the next month or so and need to re-paint my coping before the install. Thanks

    Vinyl liner Quote Replacement Question

Thanks, I thought so. But I wanted to make sure the wording didn't seem to be unusual. I've been happy with this pool company overall with the work they have done in the past.

    Vinyl liner Quote Replacement Question

I just received a quote to replace our liner that is 13 years old. I'm curious if the wording in the agreement of sale is common when replacing a liner: Our standard liner installation fee includes: An on site inspection, measuring the liner, removal and disposal of old liner, re-trowel...

Drilling Holes in Concrete for Pool Safety Fence

Just a quick question about drilling the 5/8 inch anchor holes in my concrete pool decking for the Pool safety fence. The anchors are about 5-6 inches long, do I need to be concerned about drilling into any of the pool pvc plumbing or anything else? My hope/guess is that the pool plumbing should...

Pentair MasterTemp 250, Low Flow on my SWG with Thermal Regulator Installed

Thank you for the detailed description! I can feel and see the internal bypass above the thermal regulator, it looks fine and seems to be intact. I think it's just my overall pumping that is restrictive and adding the thermal regulator is just enough to stop the SWG Cell flow sensor from closing.

Pentair MasterTemp 250, Low Flow on my SWG with Thermal Regulator Installed

I should not run the heater with the thermostat removed correct? That would cause water temps over 120F? - - - Updated - - - I'm posting the photos via my google drive, I'm over my quota limit on file uploads because of old post with photos attached.

Pentair MasterTemp 250, Low Flow on my SWG with Thermal Regulator Installed

I removed the thermostat again and the SWG is running fine and doesn't show "no flow". Just seems odd to me that the thermostat or the spring is causing that much restriction. I have order a new thermostat, but I tested it today and it opens and closes fine at 120F. Picture of thermostat...

Pentair MasterTemp 250, Low Flow on my SWG with Thermal Regulator Installed

The cell works fine on high speed on the pump or with the pool heater thermostat removed. A quick update, with the pump on high and the thermostat installed I hear a faint "rattling" or metallic noise from the pool heater (when the heater is off). I did run the heater for a few minutes and it...

Pentair MasterTemp 250, Low Flow on my SWG with Thermal Regulator Installed

The filter is clean, and the SWG is not that old. A few photos of the pumping and the pressure reading. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0ByKOKrLMRlnpMzZuVTd1S0ttTWM https://drive.google.com/open?id=0ByKOKrLMRlnpOFhKTXRzRUhVdzg

Pentair MasterTemp 250, Low Flow on my SWG with Thermal Regulator Installed

What does the bypass look like and where is it located? The old regulator is fine and the clip and spring are in good shape. But now I'm wondering if it's the bypass....

Pentair MasterTemp 250, Low Flow on my SWG with Thermal Regulator Installed

Quick update: I see low flow on my IC40 with thermostat installed and the Heater: Off. When I turned the heater ON, the SWG switched on and no longer shows RED no flow. Any ideas? I really don't use the heater that much and just pulled out the thermostat, but I would like to try and figure...

Pentair MasterTemp 250, Low Flow on my SWG with Thermal Regulator Installed

Looking for some help. I didn't have this issue last year, but the last few weeks I noticed my IC40 SWG show "red" no flow when I install the Thermal Regulator on the MasterTemp 250 heater and my pump speed is set to low. I tested the thermal regulator in some hot water and it does open at 120...

Best setup for outdoor stereo system

I don't have any iPhones anymore, but it looks like this app "AllCast" should allow you to play music from your iTunes music library. I prefer using a home media server (like PLEX) to stream using Chromecast audio. It's really just a local "Cloud" server, with my music library. AllCast — Cast...

    Getting SWG installed tomorrow...any advice?

You can use Solar Salt from the store, you don't have to buy "pool salt". I had a small issue running my SWG on low speed with my pump, the SWG flow sensor would not engage and I had to add more surface area to the sensor "flag" so it would move on low speed. A SWG will not run when water temp...

Best setup for outdoor stereo system

Google Chromecast Audio... most people don't know that they now support multi-room grouping. So if you have more than one Chromecast audio you can stream the audio to all the Chromecasts in the "group". I have a set of Rock speakers and house speakers mounted under the eaves, you can play them...

    Pump power consumption

I recently bought a T.E.D. (The Energy Detective) It's a device consists of three parts: a Measuring Transmitting Unit, which taps directly into your home’s circuit-breaker wiring; a pair of Current Transformers, which are clamped around the thick power cables coming into your home; and a...

    Whinning Pentair WhisperFlo Pump

I just bought a Pentair 356630S (with switch) to replace my failed motor last week for around $230 shipped online. Your current motor should last 6 weeks, my old motor started whining at the beginning of the season this year and finally failed 1 week ago. Just make sure you spend the extra money...

Pentair Whisperflo 2 speed pump tripping breaker

You will not have a wire from the switch on the pump terminal 1, the wire on post 1 needs to come from the breaker or timer. The other power wire will go to the middle post on the switch, black wire with a wire nut on it from the factory. Updated Diagram

Pentair Whisperflo 2 speed pump tripping breaker

Here is a quick diagram I used to wire my 2-speed pump this week. You should not have anything connected to 2 (High) or 3/4 (Low) if you are using the switch on the pump. The only connections will be to post 1 on the pump terminal and then cut off the wire nut on the black middle wire of the...

    Do I need to replumb?

Just wanted to say Thank you to everybody for the help and feedback. I pulled out my IC-40 to look at the sensor again and noticed mine had less surface area than the photo I posted above. Mine has half the surface area under the round grey magnet that you see in the photo (it's not as long)...

    Do I need to replumb?

I pulled the cell out last night and checked the flow sensor and the plates, everything seems fine. I will double check again tonight, I haven't had any problems with the cell on high speed so I think it's the elbow in the piping just before the cell that's causing the issue. I'm wondering if I...

    Do I need to replumb?

The pump is only 1-2 feet above the water level. I'm not at home right now but I would guess each suction line is around 30 feet long, the drain is a dual drain and might be more like 35 feet to the bottom of the pool. I've never used a 2-speed pump before but how much pressure should I expect...

I checked the IC-40 it doesn't need cleaning and works fine when the pump is on high speed.

    Do I need to replumb?

I just cleaned out the filters just to make sure, they weren't very dirty (filter pressure steady at 15 PSI). No change low speed is not enough flow for the IC-40.

    Do I need to replumb?

Sorry forgot about the filter pressure between 15-20 PSI new gauge on high, 3-5 PSI on low. We don't use the heater much, would it help to bypass it when not using it? The valve that is off is for vacuum to waste, don't have the waste hose hooked up right now.
