4 months in, very unhappy - help me learn?

I ordered the TF-Pro. It looked like the best option and used Taylor items - is that not a taylor? It does have the speed stir device. I will look at a SWCG down the road - but having just bought everything something like that isn't quite in the budget today.

4 months in, very unhappy - help me learn?

My thought was that in the meantime, since the plaster was JUST cleaned, brushing it would be the best thing I can do (as opposed to doing nothing) to do SOMETHING until I could get this sorted out. I thought I was clear that I knew something was wrong and that was my reason for coming here...

CYA with a pool refill? How?

Yes, it is the new fill after an acid wash. I'm also confused. I feel it has to be a mis-read as free chlorine is zero... unless they put in stabilizer and NOT chlorine... I did add a gallon of chlorine that I had as a spare sitting here just in case I ever needed it. Something better than...

CYA with a pool refill? How?

I did the reading with a test strip. Yes, I know these are garbage compared to the taylor drops, but we're not DIY'ing maintenance (yet) so it's more of a backup plan to have these available. I called them yesterday because our service report from Friday said 100 on CYA which they agreed was...

4 months in, very unhappy - help me learn?

We have had a pool service since day 1 of the fill. As this is our first pool and our first season with such pool, we are relying on "experts" to assist with this until we feel more comfortable with the DIY aspect. In the meantime, we're brushing twice a day until we feel like our water...

Help me with my VSP settings?

Okay, starting to feel a little more comfortable about things so diving in a little deeper (no pun intended) to ensure I have everything set up as optimal as possible. So would love some help digesting the info, and maybe any suggestions on my variable speed pump settings. Screen shots below...

4 months in, very unhappy - help me learn?

Just an update - FINALLY got the plaster installer (sub-contractor from builder) to come out, take a look, and immediately said this was an issue due to too much dirt at the beginning (no sod until several weeks after pool startup). Suggested a drain, acid-wash, re-fill. Came out 2 weeks...

CYA with a pool refill? How?

We just had to drain and refill our pool. It was acid washed while empty and then immediately refilled using our hoses on the house. Talked to our pool service company about chemicals for a "restart" of sorts. They came out the day after it filled. CYA was reading 60 already, but 0 free...

4 months in, very unhappy - help me learn?

Thanks for the honesty - kinda stings, but thanks. As a first time pool owner, and hearing how important early days of plaster care are, it seems odd to me that this falls under "my neglect" when the issues arose pretty much on day 2 or 3 or whatever it is. We did what our builder told us to...

4 months in, very unhappy - help me learn?

So my big question. What the heck happened? What is the problem? How can I make my new 6-figure home addition not make me mad every time I'm out there? How can we fix this? What would YOU do in my case? Yes, they got their final builder payment (per our lender, we had no choice). Yes...

4 months in, very unhappy - help me learn?

Continued... May 9 - After pool service attempts at "cleanup" (was charged extra $250 for this on top of the weekly maintenance), water is clear, some cleaning has happened. Was told likely algae, but now that it's gone, the pool has stains and streaks... primarily under the water...

4 months in, very unhappy - help me learn?

Quick timeline and some pics for reference.... DFW area Feb 20 - Pool plastered w/ pebbletec Feb 22 - Orenda startup begins Note, pool already quite dirty here. Landscaping was not put in prior to pool startup. Feb 26 - Continued brushing helps a little but still can't get it "clean"...

    Heater/Chiller + Gas Heater .... what order?

I don’t know that it had other than setup. I’m now thinking it’s possible that the HP is receiving flow after fusion and then back into returns (which is on the right) That also seems off to be heating post chlorine?
