Thank you all for your help. SLAM ✅ OCLT ✅ MA SLAM ✅ All things that enter the pool were scrubbed and brushed and soaked and washed. ✅ Light niches cleaned ✅ I feel very confident thanks to all the advice here. Letting her come back down to normal FC levels today. Need to add some CYA and...

I don’t think I can manage to do the drain covers. Maybe the spa ones. But definitely not the pool. I’m just gonna have to hope scrubbing the outside of them and high chlorine was good enough. Thank you. We did get the lights off and out to clean inside. It really wasn’t too bad at all in...

I let the spa circulate for two hours last night after we scrubbed all the return nozzles and light niche. Then back to pool. Planning on doing the same today at the mustard algae slam level. Do you think 2 hours is long enough? Should I rotate more often between the spa and pool. Spa...

SLAM - done. OCLT - done. Before I add the bleach to start the 2nd part of my SLAM for mustard algae Should I try bringing my PH down. My FC is sitting at 15. If I run a PH test will it be accurate at that level? My pool is notorious for needing muriatic acid. And with the pump running...

Thank you all so much for the advice. Would it be frowned upon to bring my shock up to MA levels tonight (23.8 according to the chart) before I go to bed and let it run thru the night so that I can end my 24 hours tomorrow night? Or is it really important that I do the OCLT? I have stayed on...

Get the free chlorine to the higher 24 hour mustard algae level? I am worried that is what I have. MA

So keep the FC at 16 till after sun goes down tonight. (I gotta pop in it tonight after work to scrub the returns, lights and nooks and crannies down) Test. Run pool all night. Re test in morning before sun hits the water. Then if I want to be safe, do the MA levels? Incase that is what it...

Been checking water every two hours and adding chlorine. Needing about 2 to 3 cups. Doing as the test results and app tells me. Keeping FC at 16 It’s hot and full sun today. Water still looking good. No combined chloramines .

Ok. Gonna hold FC AT 16 and brush brush brush today. My water is crystal clear. I do not see any evidence of the puffy cloud of algae this morning. Walls and floor look good. The chlorine seemed to mostly hold overnight. (I say that becuse I didn’t test it after I added the 2 cups right...

Thanks for the advice on the CYA. I will give it a try. I never listen to their advice. I buy salt and the random thing or two from them. For the first year I tried to keep it as close to what the plaster mfg wanted and I had to go weekly to have paper test reports. Incase anything went...

Oh. Nevermind. I see what your saying now. Round up to 10’s. I struggle with the at home CYA test and mostly that is why I go to Leslie’s. When I need to buy supplies I let them run a test. And mostly ignore all their advice and do my own tests. I just want the cya number. And I have some...

Hi. The pool math app says 14. If I change the cya to a different number the pool math changes the slam number automatically. So is the app not correct?

Ok. Well here is my numbers and I am already slamming. I haven’t checked my CL yet since adding the chlorine. I’ll be doing that soon and running the pump all night. But I def have algae. And it came on fast. It sticks to the side of the walls and bottom of the floor and puffs when I brush it.

When I noticed the algae this morning I turned the salt cell up to 100%. Put a bag of fresh and clear (I know I know) and brushed. I had my hubby pick up chlorine on his way home from work. I brought the ph down. Ran a water test with the Taylor kit I bought from TFT Turned off the sat cell...

    MA bottle damaged

I think I will just rinse it off and use it. If when I open it and it’s not able to be shut or sealed properly I will carfully return it for a different bottle.

    MA bottle damaged

Hey. Nope. I am positive The MA leaked out of the cap onto the bottle and turned it yellow and drippy stained looking. It was not because it was left outside and got wet. The box and palate of boxes were not damaged. Nor was the other bottle in the box. I am likely just going to rinse it off...

    MA bottle damaged

We just bought it yesterday. The picture doesn’t show it well I guess. The bottle is stained yellow. The label has stained yellow. The inside of the box has a wet look ring where the bottle sat. The other bottle has no damage present. Yes. I store them in a storage bin outside in a shaded area.

    MA bottle damaged

Just opened box of MA and one of the bottles looks like it has leaked. Outside of box has no damage present. Should I use it? Or return it for a bottle that is not damaged. I tend to be overly cautious with this stuff. It scares me. So, any thought on this? Thanks in advance.

    Clogged return?

We had pool water solar panels installed a few weeks ago. I have noticed that the return that has the furthest pipe run, is not pushing even a quarter of what the other ones are pushing. We have 3 returns in the pool and one in the spa with spill over water fall. My guess is some random piece...

    Total Chlorine question

I actually just added CYA today! Was waiting till after we cleaned the filter. We do have a screen room over the pool. So I think I kind of like to run it on the low end since it’s not getting beat up by the sun as much as pools in open yard. I guess I need to work on a pool signature for my...

    Total Chlorine question

Hi. I weekly test my salt pool water on my own with the Taylor kit I ordered from this site. My pool has been amazing and I have been keeping it all in range on my own. I assume we are doing a great job also, becuse when we opened the SWG to check it for its very first cleaning and there...
