Currently slamming. Suspect yellow algae.

So keep the FC at 16 till after sun goes down tonight.
Yes
(I gotta pop in it tonight after work to scrub the returns, lights and nooks and crannies down)
Test.
Run pump for 30 minutes before testing. Test 30 minutes after last addition and after sundown.
Run pool all night.
Or turn it off, doesn't matter.
Re test in morning before sun hits the water.
Yes. If you turn off pump, run for 30 minutes before testing.
Then if I want to be safe, do the MA levels? Incase that is what it was.
I don't know what this means.

Thank you all so much for the advice.
Would it be frowned upon to bring my shock up to MA levels tonight (23.8 according to the chart) before I go to bed and let it run thru the night so that I can end my 24 hours tomorrow night?
Or is it really important that I do the OCLT?
I have stayed on top of it and have consistently have added chlorine all day long to keep the slam at 16. Averaging 2.5 to 3 cups each time. It was 90 degrees and full sun all day.

SLAM - done.
OCLT - done.
Before I add the bleach to start the 2nd part of my SLAM for mustard algae
Should I try bringing my PH down.
My FC is sitting at 15. If I run a PH test will it be accurate at that level?
My pool is notorious for needing muriatic acid. And with the pump running longer and the waterfall and now the bubblers running to circulate the slam water. I wonder if my PH is gonna be out of control after the mustard algae slam.

I let the spa circulate for two hours last night after we scrubbed all the return nozzles and light niche.
Then back to pool.

Planning on doing the same today at the mustard algae slam level.

Do you think 2 hours is long enough?

Should I rotate more often between the spa and pool. Spa is spillover waterfall into pool.

The only things we did not remove to scrub were the drain covers.

I did get the door off the skimmer and pulled the styrofoam out of it and brushed it all good everywhere. Left the door off for now.
Planning on soaking it in the pool at SLAM level.
Does that styrofoam need to be replace or will the slam level get it clean?

I assume in your set up it's either one way or the other huh? No way to split flow to both? If not, then sure, cycle the MA level to your spa every couple hours or so.

Perhaps later when you are able to get back in the pool. :snorkle:

Remember, when it comes to potential MA, don't forget any pool toys and accessories that may typically go in the water. Those have to be cleaned really well too.

I don't see an answer to your question about lights. Should be just removing screws. Often just one. There should be a coil of cable in the niche that you can unspool so the light can be laid on the deck. If the niche is too deep to reach without being in the water, goggles are a huge help. If you post light model numbers, someone here will have specifics.

I don’t think I can manage to do the drain covers. Maybe the spa ones. But definitely not the pool. I’m just gonna have to hope scrubbing the outside of them and high chlorine was good enough.

Thank you. We did get the lights off and out to clean inside. It really wasn’t too bad at all in there. Some construction debri mostly.

That's ok, It's really more to rule it out. Any stone left unturned is a future question mark if things don't go to plan. :)

Statistically speaking, they likely are clean due to good flow.

Thank you all for your help.

I feel very confident thanks to all the advice here.
Letting her come back down to normal FC levels today.
Need to add some CYA and check my PH a little later. After the FC drops.

I ended up using 6 bottles of bleach.
