Has anyone had any luck with selling an Intex pool?

Apparently my Nextdoor is just a site for local biz ads and grumbles. And now I recall why I deactivated it last year! But thanks for the tip!

Has anyone had any luck with selling an Intex pool?

Curious if you caught more fish with ebay, marketplace or Craigslist. After 4 years, it time to hang it up. Just have no motivation to keep up maintaining chemistry anymore.

    This season and lessons learned.

Lesson for the week. Remember Rule 1 - don't get cocky. Eternal vigilance otherwise you don't notice that the robot cleaner didn't charge properly and you didn't up the chlorine after someone slathered on sunscreen and got straight in the pool and then you didn't even look at the pool for three...

    This season and lessons learned.

Both correct! Hayward skimmer installed. No drain, just me and a cordless drill with a long flex extension for the drill bit. And the spike is from a palm tree floatie cup holder :) You win the interweb's undying affection for the day.

    This season and lessons learned.

Third year with 24x12 intex ultra. Last year's upgrade was an Intex SWG. Still got algae and I think I know why. Last year's CYA was about 30. SWG was on for 3 hours a day. I don't think I ever understood the keep it above the minimum Chlorine at all times. This year, upped the CYA to 60...

    Reset Intex Timer

My intex pump (and swg) will run at the same time every day - from whatever the last time was when I manually started it. This morning I set to run for 12 hours at 7am. Until I change it, it will do that every day. It's a bit of a pita when you have to do backwashing and turn the pump off, gets...

Aiper power supply, the Little Red Hen Makes a Pizza approach

My Aiper 600 supply power bit the dust, one full charge after winter storage. Aiper support took a week and a half to tell me that I was out of warranty and luck. Because I'm thrifty (thrifty with a pool seems a bit oxymoronic), rather than spending 45 bucks on a new PS, I thought I'd get a...

Was that possibly misheard from "suck the money from your wallet"?

    Vacuuming Intex Pool

your pool came with something like this, no? The black plugs can be used to shut off an intake. The filter cap on the left screws off.

    Vacuuming Intex Pool

I think I have the same kit. Attach one end of the long hose to the tube on the end of the canister. Insert the pole into the blue tube at the same end and the vacuum head to the other end. Other end of the long hose fits on to one of your intake ports inside the pool. Replace the filter cap...

I knew I was Pool Stored when...

whenever I buy something new, I google the Crud out of it first. Found out about TFP before I ever entered Leslie's. I occasionally go in there as it's the only place to get 12% I've found. I usually end up waiting to buy a 4 pack case behind someone who is facing a CVS-long receipt of chemicals...

Intex Sand Filter Pump Timer Settings

I'd love to see a solution for this too. Unfortunately, being a cheaper pump, the Intex don't come with many bells and whistles.

Au revoir pool. See you in June.

To paraphrase Bilbo Baggins - I used it twice as much as I thought I would, and half as much I should have. Some lessons learned this first year. Commit to the SLAM. Don't half do it or I'll be half doing it for a month or more. Use it more often. Brushing may be more important than vacuuming...

Overnight Chlorine good but get some algae

Got some reoccurring algae because I didn't have time to do the M in Slam. Seems all good now just as I go on a 5 day vacation.... Trichlor tabs and starting FC at 16 should maintain me while I'm away, fingers crossed.

Overnight Chlorine good but get some algae

The good news is that the appendectomy was a success and now have her home recuperating. 24 hours away from the pool and Chlorine was 8 ppm, 7.6 pH and algae in evidence. Not as bad as last week but not nice. Added dry acid to take the pH down a peg or two. Rechecked CYA and it looks like...

Overnight Chlorine good but get some algae

10 ppm this morning, brought back to 12. 9.5 this afternoon and same. Extensive brushing and vacuuming, amazing how much more you can see from inside the pool with goggles on. Unfortunately, in the ER now with suspected appendicitis for daughter, so pool schmool.

Overnight Chlorine good but get some algae

Yes, I expect to keep this going through end Monday at least, and fingers crossed it will be crystal clear. First bottle of LC (leftover from last year) , lasted over a week. Second bottle, 3 weeks. Third bottle, 2 days :)

Overnight Chlorine good but get some algae

Late night update, 11 ppm chlorine, so holding. No green spots seen at 6pm, though water slightly cloudy. Let's check the tape in the morning.

Overnight Chlorine good but get some algae

2 hours later, 12 becomes 9. Added more liquid chlorine but will have to leave it for a while.

Overnight Chlorine good but get some algae

So, number one rule of this forum - if you ask for advice, take it! Along with the other Golden rule, if in doubt, SLAM. Wednesday I raised CL to 8ppm, Thursday I chucked in a cup of 12.5% without measuring. Friday, I measured at 6.5 and thought close enough. Saturday, came to a pool with green...

Overnight Chlorine good but get some algae

Thank you! I'll take it to the 6-7 ppm range for a couple of days. I'll leave CYA as is for now as Im going on vacation in a couple of weeks and will load up with 3 3" tablets while I'm gone and hope for no power outages that trip the GCFI to keep the pump on schedule.

Overnight Chlorine good but get some algae

Thanks for the detail response! Circulation - I could try moving the skimmer port over one but that's about it with my intex. Slam - may try this weekend, or just bump up my dosage to 6-7 for a couple of days Testing - all duly noted! Backwash - weekly, but yesterday the pump was at 9 psi...

Overnight Chlorine good but get some algae

Hi all, Have noticed a couple of spots of algae on my Intex 24x12 over the last couple of weeks. Easily vacuums off, patches never more than 2" across. I've been keep the chlorine at 4-5ppm each day after I test but the algae was worrying, so last night did my first overnight Chlorine test -...

    Well Howdy

Hi all, Whenever I google searched questions about an AGP, this site always came up first. After a 10' round Intex became invaluable, the missus splurged on an Intex 24x12. Ground is nearly level, just the outside perimeters need some clearing. Looking forward to living off your knowledge and...
