Pentair Warrior SI - No power at robot

It's 2-3 years old. I can't find my original order confirmation so out of luck on warranty and surely it's 2 years+ old anyway. I was afraid that it was the cable :( Guess it's time to find a new replacement.

Pentair Warrior SI - No power at robot

My warrior si randomly stopped working recently and doesnt look like it's getting power at the robot. The control box has power and the lights go blue to start a cleaning cycle but the flashing light on the robot doesnt come on and he seems dead. I've checked the motor and propellers to make...

    IC40 Not Chlorinating Enough/At all

Appreciate the advice guys. Turns out it was totally my fault my levels for everything are totally jacked. F- for house pool boy side job. 0 FC, 8.2 PH, 115 TA, 225 CH, 0 CYA. I've gotten very lazy and complacent since converting to salt and only kept an eye on salt levels via intellicenter app...

    IC40 Not Chlorinating Enough/At all

I have an IC40 for a ~12k or so gallon pool. Salt levels 3750 (yes a bit over try and keep it ~3600) and 25% output. My chlorine levels have been around 0 and getting algae buildup in the pool. Water is still clear but something seems up. Last summer when I put this in had no issues and...

    Automate or Pentair Power Center.

Valid point and good idea. I'm sure pentair will raise prices another 10-20% this year alone.

    Automate or Pentair Power Center.

Jim thank you very much for the detailed write up. After hunting around and doing the math on all the components I went ahead and just got an Intellicenter 521905. For 2k with a salt cell and everything else came out cheaper and easier with better future proofing than all the other misc...

    Selecting a pentair heater

Thanks for this tip! I found a mastetemp 400 and went to check my meter which I otherwise would not have to find its only 275 CFH / 275k btu. Called atmos and started the process to get an upgraded meter put in which is free from the meter/atmos level. Hopefully won't have to pay to run any new...

Very informative thank you. Mastertemp it will be then.

    Selecting a pentair heater

Very helpful thank you! Sounds like 400k btu is what I want then size wise. Is the Eti 400 worth it over the Mastertemp? The Eti at least from pentair website looks to be their top end unit although 6-8k is kinda nuts for it.

    Selecting a pentair heater

I wasnt able to find any recent threads on the correct sizing and heater offerings. I'm going to be adding an intellicenter to my setup so would like a unit compatible with that. Is there any sizing guidelines similar to the salt cells to go 2-3x the size of your pool? i.e. my pool is a 12k...

    Automate or Pentair Power Center.

Thanks Jim. What would be the ranking of pentair automation system offerings from best to okay enough to do the job? The pentair site shows several the easytouch, intellicenter, intellitouch, and sun touch. I do like the advantage of the automation to make sure the salt cell isnt running when...

    Automate or Pentair Power Center.

Just renovated my pool and thanks to great advice here decided going to convert to salt water. I picked up a new IC40 and was about to get a pentair power center but seems like for a couple hundred more I could get an automation system. I just have a pool, no spa, water features, and light tied...

    pump question - freeze

Why not let it run at high so it circulates more water and generates more heat? I have my pump running at 2700 24/7 right now.

    Best SWG

Thanks guys. Conversion to SWG it is then! I'll start shopping while prices are cheap.......or cheaper than they will be in a couple months.

    Best SWG

Oh and worst case down the road what is the process to convert back from a SW pool? Aside from just disablng/removing the SWG anything else required to go back to regular chlorine and any impacts on the plaster/minipebble or its life span?

    Best SWG

What am I missing from not having automation? I don't have an integrated spa, no heater (but will be adding one), and no water features. Is there any advantages to adding automation and going with IC40?

    Best SWG

I have all pentair equipment and just put in a new intelliflo VSF pump. Thats what I was thinking an IC20 or IC40 was a good fit but if its not the best i'd rather spend a couple more dollars and do it right.

    Best SWG

I just had my pool renovated and thinking of switching to a SWG. Currently use LC but the price increase to $4.5/gallon along with how much and often a texas summer requires it is something i'd like to miss out on this summer. I've gone over the comparison at discount salt pools (Compare and...

    Levels off during startup

They all seem to be quite similar from the ones I found here and the NPC one I've been going off of - http://universalcement.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/NPC-Pool-Start-Up-Instructions.pdf Ah that makes sense. I've been using LC, 2 gallons every day or two and put in 4 tablets on 2 in the...

    Levels off during startup

I'm about a week since having replaster finished and pool filled. I've followed the startup guides but my levels are still way off. Any chlorine I put in is eaten up straight away. My CH is 125 at my last test from today and the pool math app is suggesting 36 lbs of calcium chloride but that...

    FinestFinish Mini vs Stonescapes Minipebble

Looking closer at the photos looks like they actually put the micro fusion in not mini although it doesnt feel much different than other pools with mini. Seems like it'll be ok to leave as is. Plaster company has disappeared and hasn't even sent an invoice so if they show up again will just push...

    FinestFinish Mini vs Stonescapes Minipebble

Does anyone have experience with finish finish mini pebble vs stonescapes? I ordered and paid for stonescapes french gray mini and went outside to see that the plaster guys used finest finish french gray which im assuming is a way cheaper Darntier plaster and pebble. Is this worth holding...

Am I crazy? Being my own contractor for pool? (DIY?)

I'm a commercial GC in DFW and would recommend doing it yourself if you are capable. The pool builders in DFW that ive come across are an embarrassment to the construction trade. I'm GC'ing my own pool reno right now and while it is a reno not a new build its not difficult, the hardest part was...

Advice on what to do with pool contractor $14000 unexpected charge

Absolutely do not pay it. Do you honestly think a single pool builder is going to pay higher than budgeted excavation costs and dump fees and not bill you for it or notice the increase for 7 months? I'd practically guarantee you that every single aspect of your pool build is sub contracted out...

Replaster/tile/cope must haves from a pool remodeler and ideal material choice?

I need to get my pool replastered/tiled/coped. What are some of the best practices for having this done? I thought I read that the proper way to do it is something with dragging a hammer along it everywhere to make sure all the old plaster is out? What should I be making sure the contractor...

Best way to get large amounts of leafs out of green pool

This actually isnt an idea im opposed to. I can buy a sump pump and empty it then rake the leafs out. Is there any concerns pressure washing the plaster to get the algae off and with the pool being empty for a day or two even if it rains? I haven't seen any pressure relief valves at the bottom...

Best way to get large amounts of leafs out of green pool

My pump died a couple months ago and I've been stuck with a very green very leaf filled pool. I just finally got and had a new intelliflo vsf installed and need to get the pool from swamp to clear. I unfortunately have a very large tree over the pool that has dumped TONS of leafs and acorns into...
