When I add my test results, then click on chlorine for example, and go to suggested amount to reach target. I log addition "suggested amount" and it saves fine. When I go to my Log, the suggested amount isn't logged, it shows -1oz of bleach. Every time.

First time I've had to buy LC in a couple months at least. Local pool store $7gal for 12.5%. Home Depot $14.98 for 2 gal. Prices have gone up slightly.

You don't need to use a pool to enjoy it. Just think of it as landscaping. I hardly ever swim but it looks nice sitting around in the backyard. Vacuum/skimming robots would be a big help with trees around.

Found it! It's a little gasket for the float thing at the bottom of the skimmer. I got it back in there. It goes inside where the float moves up and down. Doesn't look like it takes any glue. Not even sure it's necessary. Definitely gave me a scare.

Looking online unions seem to use an o-ring not this gasket thing. I'm confused

Yeah, pretty good for the area over 2 days. Palm Springs reported 3-4" but a lot more in the surrounding mountains. In the low desert during the summer that's a lot of water to drain.

Well, I drained my pool to the bottom of the waterline tike. Today it's just over 1/2 tile. Just had to add some acid, chlorine held fine. I thought rain is supposed to lower PH. Not much I guess. Oh well, we survived

That's exactly what I do in the less extreme desert. No reason to keep the TA at 70-80. With evaporation and high TA fill water my TA stays at 50-60 during the summer. In winter I add a little baking soda sometimes.

A dog that likes the pool was the last straw, my cover is history. I found it cuts chlorine use by about 1/3. It actually made my pool more dirty. The skimmer doesn't skim with it on and junk just sinks to the bottom.

That's pretty amazing. Not sure how the hair gets past the sock. All my filters get are dust and whatever small stuff goes through the drains. I clean every few months and they really aren't that dirty. I've never seen the filter tub water look that bad
