    Retention Wall

I had some questions about constructing a retention wall and I couldn't find any pictures or solutions that fit my situation. This is the solution a contractor came up with. Hope this helps someone in the future! 1. Start picture. Pool builder didn't think we needed a retaining wall, but I...

    Pergola Install on Paver Deck

Thanks for the replies so far! @Newdude - hopefully the Pergola materials will last a while. We are way overbudget so I think we are going to have to learn to live with the design for a while, lol. @ajw22 - would you recommend mortar or adhesive to join the paver to the concrete footings? Any...

New pool start - 4 week evaluation

Looking for some comments on chemistry regards to new FG pool. It has been 4 weeks since the pool was in the ground. Since then the hardscaping is *mostly done, and the kids are itching to jump in. I've been using a pool maintenance company to start me off, and hopefully cut them off once I...

Sump well - how often should you drain?

Thanks for the replies everyone. I think I will have to add it as a regular 1x/week maintenance job, and maybe keep it in there if there is a bad rain or flood event on its way.

Sump well - how often should you drain?

Oh yes, they had to reset the pool, crane and everything. When they did again, they wound up cracking corners of my driveway from the crane. Not a great experience So do most people just drain it once a week? Am I overthinking this?

New Pool Construction - Bonding concern

Update: I spoke with the representative that makes the copper bonding grid (3" Wide X 100' Long Copper Equipotnetial Bonding Grid W/ KIT) and they actually stated in recent testing, the copper bonding closer to the surface will better protection. As such, I wound up laying the bonding grid...

Sump well - how often should you drain?

Recent FG pool construction in Houston, TX. When the pool was initially set, we had several days of heavy rain that caused the pool to float up on one end. The builder has installed a sump well - 10" diameter tube that extends down into the ground, near the deep end side of the pool. I...

New Fiberglass Build Progress Thread - The Good, Bad, and Ugly

At least they didn't forget to put in the bonding wire - my cement crew finished 3/4 away around when I noticed that the wire was not attached to the rebar. Which autocover are you putting in?

New Pool Construction - Bonding concern

Thanks for all the responses so far! To follow up, if I added a second bonding loop, would I add it around the perimeter of the existing concrete (as shown in the attached picture)? But then again, I always thought concrete was conductive, so wouldn't it make more sense to add ontop of...
