New EVO 614i Robot Pool Cleaner Review

Howdy all, I received my EVO 614iQ a few weeks ago from Marina and so far I must be doing something wrong because it doesn't really do much. Previously had a Dophin I think? It was amazing, cleaned everything, filled up the basket with leaves and dirt. I wonder if I'm doing something wrong...

    Pool Leak Repair - Epoxy?

Hi All I think we have a pool leak. We have a concrete pool. In the hot tub that sits a few feet above the main pool, there are portions of it where pebble looking material is worn and looks like it may be leaking. I'm not sure if that's common. I do see some type of white epoxy on different...

Is this a light or sensor of some kind?

Thank you guys. I looked at the replacement led lights for that type of niche. Installation looks like it’ll be some work but it might be worth doing at some point. It’s too bad no one makes a large, rechargeable pool light. In a different note, for fun I took the cut off end the fiber optic...

Is this a light or sensor of some kind?

Marty! Thank you for leading me in the right direction. The house is fairly new to us I started exploring the area around the pool and found something hidden behind a large bush. I remove the bush and found this: Pretty nifty. Looks like they had installed a really cool fiber optic gizmo...

Is this a light or sensor of some kind?

Hi all! This it in the shallow end of my pool. Anyone know what it is? I have a pool light in the middle of the pool but it doesn’t light the shallow end. I wonder if this is some kind of light? Or maybe a thermometer of some kind? It’s about an inch and half to 2 inches in diameter. thank you!

Filling Gap Between Pool and Deck

From what I can tell, one side of the pool looks like it may have dropped an inch or so. My guess is the previous owner had a leak that they let continue until erosion caused the pool to drop. Either that or the palm trees planted around the pool lifted the deck almost uniformly around one side...

Filling Gap Between Pool and Deck

This is very helpful thank you. I looked at the specs on deck-o-seal.. looks like the maximum thickness of install is 1". Looks like I'm going need like $800 worth lol. Some of the gaps are closer to 2". Do you have any suggestions for that? Maybe I just need to hire a professional at this...

Filling Gap Between Pool and Deck

Hi all. I saw that there is a featured post on this but didn’t want to interfere with that homeowners thread. I’m a fairly new pool owner and am getting ready for the summer season. There is a gap between my pool and the “decking” I think you call it? I have installed backer rod on most of it...

    Pool Deck Separation from Shell

I have similar problems. In the end I just put some backer rod and am now trying to figure out what to fill it with. Like you, not ready to spend $10k.

    Gaps Between Pool and Concrete

I found something called deck-o-seal that looks like it’s used with backer rod.

    Gaps Between Pool and Concrete

Pool is 20 years old. I moved not this house October of last year and never got to enjoy the pool. Well it's encouraging to know this is normal. Should I hire a professional pool builder or is this as simple as me just filling it with something like sad or maybe rubber backing and then...

    Gaps Between Pool and Concrete

Hi all. Fairly new pool owner. Haven’t actually used it yet! Are these gaps normal? Certainly don’t look it to me. Little frogs live in them.

Want to Replace Single Speed Pump

Single leg Amp measurement 11.39, Voltage a 236.3. Thanks so much for the information, it's interesting to know that the motor was replaced. What you say makes sense. You mention fixing the leak because of concern of the new motor being corroded. The plan right now is to change out to a...

Want to Replace Single Speed Pump

Eureka! You are sharp! Does that need me to take apart the motor and run a test on the cap? Or can it be done another way? :) it’s funny why you say about the screen plastic, I’ve been using it like that for 4-5 years and noticed the plastic today for the first time and though “hey I should...

::wipes head:: Phew... after you told me it doesn't measure power factor, I started looking at the specs and had a call into Fluke. Thank GOD!

Want to Replace Single Speed Pump

Give the noise level difference of a variable pump, I'd likely use the water feature often. What you say makes complete sense. Once I've selected everything, I just need to figure out how to plumb it. How hard could it be?! ;D
