Heat Pump turns off with FLO error (Water flow)

Quick update: everything back to normal, thanks to everyone in this thread for your knowledge and advice! It was indeed the filter being clogged, but not overly dirty - perhaps it was the Perilite that was causing the decrease in GPM flow that triggered the pump to shutdown. What I did: *...

Heat Pump turns off with FLO error (Water flow)

Hmm, thanks - appreciate it, and will check today. Pump runtimes are 3k RPM for 1h, 10h at 1800RPM, then 1h for 3k again. Just did a water test, zero combined chlorine and water is crystal clear - but will clean the filter to test this out!

Heat Pump turns off with FLO error (Water flow)

Hi all, I'd appreciate some collective wisdom here with helping me understand what is going on. For context, I have a 20k gallon salt water pool, with a variable speed pump (newly installed this year) and a Hayward ACT-1250 heat pump. The newly installed VSP is running on lower speeds than my...

Pool pump replacement from single speed to VS: Worth it?

Hi all, I currently have a 3 year old single speed Hayward (W3SP2607X10) that works fine, however, with rising energy costs I am considering replacing it with a Variable Speed. Having a hard time determining my running costs and associated savings I'd get from switching. The current pump runs...

Gap in underside of Pool coping

Thanks @jimmythegreek! It's already lose and has a slight wobble when I step on it so I think I have to pull it and re-set it with some construction adhesive on whatever is holding it underneath, I think there's a concrete collar under the bluestone to hold it with the construction adhesive...

Gap in underside of Pool coping

Builder secured the bluestone coping with mortar, but over the year the bead on the underside crumbled and the concrete/mortar mostly fell out. I am going to pull the bluestone coping off to set it in place with some construction adhesive underneath, but what do I use in this underside bead (see...

    DE filter backwashing - when?

Excellent, thanks! Was kind of starting to get concerned that pressure wasn't rising at all over 5 months, but good to confirm Im on the right track here. Thanks again!

    DE filter backwashing - when?

1st year with the pool, and I think I have it down pretty well - pool stays clean, vaccumed every few days with a robot, using skimmer socks to catch debris in skimmers that I change almost every day (I know, overkill..), and the DE filter pressure has been consistently 15psi, where it was when...

Pool coping and deck - options

Hi all, first post here and just in the process of building our pool in CT. We went with a 18x36 rectangle liner pool, we like the classic clean lines. Current plan is to do a 4' border and about 300sq ft patio on one of the narrow sides to tie the pool into our existing patio. I am thinking...
