Building Outdoor Kitchen....anchor base cabinet frame to slab?

We've been building a pool pavilion over the last year (Wall in back, bathroom/storage room on one side, outdoor kitchen on other side and open in front) and are finally at the tail end which is building the outdoor kitchen. We'll just have one straight 11' section of base cabinet for a sink...

    Bleach shortage

My local walmart had a 2 gallon limit of 7.5% from the start of pandemic but in the last couple months have removed the limit. Last summer I went through around 3 or 4 gallons a week. They seem to have the normal amount of product on the shelf when I picked some up last week (with a 4/21...

    Automatic cover control

Were you taking them to hardware stores that have a key making machine or to an actual locksmith shop? I only had one key and wanted to have spares made in case I lost it (I also bought a Tile key fob for the key ring to help ensure I don't lose it) but after taking it to a couple hardware...

Is there a big difference between the various Pool Blaster Max models?

I've got an attached spa in the corner of my pool and am getting some annoying sand/silt buildup in the spa at the base of the bench as well as at the entry stairs of the pool. I've got a Pentair Warrior robot that works great for everywhere in the pool except around the entry stairs (when I...

Anyone use SR Smith epoxy kit (or Simpson Strongtie SetXp epoxy) to install diving board base?

Well that's strange that Simpson Strong-Tie has two differing data sheets for torque for the product. Guess I should contact them to see what the deal is....hopefully the one that says 20 ft-lb is outdated or something.

Anyone use SR Smith epoxy kit (or Simpson Strongtie SetXp epoxy) to install diving board base?

Anchors are already epoxy set so it's too late for that unfortunately and I'd rather not drill another four set of holes. I guess I'm just confused why SR Smith would sell an epoxy kit for the Cantilever base that apparently doesn't allow you to torque the nuts to their own recommended...

Anyone use SR Smith epoxy kit (or Simpson Strongtie SetXp epoxy) to install diving board base?

So I've got an old (around 20ish years, installed when the pool was originally built by previous homeowner) SR Smith cantilever base and board. Board was old and ready to be trashed so I bought a new one (True Tread 8') and since the cantilever base was fine (just stripped the old paint and...

Anyone make a squeegee that attaches to a pool pole?

I looked into that one but it seemed a little spendy...$25 minimum order from that company and then $10 shipping. I found a similar one that was $15 but the reviews weren't great as someone people said it broke (would snap in half) if they applied too much force. I ended up ordering it and...

Anyone make a squeegee that attaches to a pool pole?

Now that we're well into the rainy season I've got a couple pool cover pumps set up. Water will collect in certain spots of the cover though without reaching the pumps so I've been pushing it around with a pool brush towards the pumps once every other day or so but this is annoying since I have...

My chlorine level barely moves now...due to cold temps?

These are all good things to hear....I was thinking I was gonna be adding every 5 to 7 days in the off season but if it's gonna be around 14 days between bleach adds that's even better. Gets real rainy around here in the winter so the less times I gotta mess around with removing my pool cover...

My chlorine level barely moves now...due to cold temps?

So we've considered the pool "closed" for the season due to wet and cold weather (although we haven't lowered the water level or anything....counting on circulation and the occasional heater usage to keep anything from freezing) since Nov 1st. I last added bleach on 11/4/20 bringing the FC...

Accidentally overdosed my LC, any issues for swimmers?

Went well...water felt perfectly normal to me...no sense of being too chlorinated just by swimming in it.

Accidentally overdosed my LC, any issues for swimmers?

Sounds good, thanks for the replies everyone...I figured it was gonna be ok but just wanted to double-check since this is my first year as a pool owner. I'll leave the cover closed to try and get that heat up

Accidentally overdosed my LC, any issues for swimmers?

7.9 pH 8.0 FC 0.5 CC 140 TA 30 CYA Doing an end of the season small swim party (8 to 10 people) and tested the water (with tf100) and I must have accidentally messed up my previous test and as a result overdosed (I have 3.0 logged in my previous test so I added 2gal of 6% afterwards) because...

    Walmart bleach has changed

Wow, funny to see the differences in supplies around the country....I've been happily using the green labeled GV 6% bleach in 1 gallon jugs from mid summer (when we bought a house with a pool) up until a couple weeks ago. $2.64/gallon and I average about 4 gallons a week so I was pretty happy...

How are you storing your robots?

So I was gonna make a little custom stand for mine to store upright and keep weight off the brushes. But then I noticed that Marina Pool sells all the parts for the dolphin caddy individually. I didn't need the full caddy since I have to go up and down stairs for my pool...so I didn't want to...

Do I need to close my pool in the NW?

Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question (I'm a 1.5 months pool owner so I no very little) but just to clarify you're draining your heater/pump/filter and leaving it that way from Thanksgiving till March and then leaving all the piping under the concrete pad to/from the pool to the equipment...

Do I need to close my pool in the NW?

I've got an IG pool with autocover and all my pool utilities (pump/heater/filter/valves) are in a little equipment house so they're out of the direct elements. The average lows in the winter bottom out in the mid 30's with a handful of snow days a year. I just bought this house so I haven't...

Anyone have an SR Smith TrueTread board?

I may just end up being the pioneer on here who actually buys one.... currently going back and forth with SR Smith's customer service dept on the condition of my current stand/anchor bolts and whether it can be reused or if they need to be replaced. Would be nice to be able to reuse the stand...

How much pressure is a pump producing?

I didn't even think about checking the filter gauge to get a system psi...wow I feel dumb....i just backflushed yesterday so I should have come to that realization. Good to know thanks....looks like the shortest length I can get locally is 6' so I'll just cut one down to size and get a...

How much pressure is a pump producing?

I've got an intelliflo vs pump (3hp) and a 1-1/2 pipe coming out of it...just after the pipe leaves the pump on the pressure side there is a tee fitting where there is a hose bib spigot that leads to a rubber hose (20ish inches long) that goes to a 3/4" pvc pipe (with male threaded brass fitting...

Anyone have an SR Smith TrueTread board?

Bought a house with a pool and as part of the inspection we were told the diving board needs to be replaced (or removed), it's around 25yrs old....we've decided we're going to replace it. It looks like the stand we have is an SR Smith Cantilever stand. Currently trying to get confirmation on...

How are you storing your robots?

You know you're right....I think I was just remembering what someone else posted on here about being told to store it that way to prevent any weight on the brushes. Using bricks or pavers as a riser to keep brushes off the ground sounds like a good inexpensive idea though.

    Dolphin VS Pentair

I just bought a Warrior SI from Marina....the Warrior SE is exactly the same as the S200/Active 20 just different color plastic and it's $20 cheaper. The Warrior SI and the Prowler are kind of variations on the s300 and s300i. They offer some of the features of the 300 series but not all...

does anyone actually LIKE doing a manual vacuum of their pool....

I hate it so much that after my first time doing it I ordered a robot. Skimming is enjoyable though...I like the process of getting the surface of the water absolutely free of any foreign object no matter how tiny (well as long as it is bigger than the holes in the net) it is.

How are you storing your robots?

I bought a Warrior SI and am now trying to figure out how to store it since I plan on taking it out of the pool after each cleaning...I'm currently running it twice a week. I'm assuming all those that bought models with caddy's are storing theirs on a Caddy but for those without are you just...

Dolphin Nautilus CC - really limited to 33’?

I second calling Marina pools...I just bought a pentair warrior SI from them but they have the warrior SE (same thing as an Active 20/S200, just different color scheme)... The SE was sub $700 (although just barely) and it has a 60' cord. Might be worth it to pay the extra $100 and get the...

How much Muriatic Acid do you keep on hand?

Yeah I've got the plastic bin (just one of those home depot black and yellow lid ones) outside the shed now. I'll get a more permanent solution (those containers you have seem like a good idea) sometime this year.
