New SWG install & Plumbing Help in Tucson

The instruction fro the SWG I just bought specify the install must be in a 3 ft. uninterrupted section of pipe. I have a solar system installed the return of which makes it impossible for me to have a 3 ft. uninterrupted section of the return line to the pool. The best I can do on the line from...

    Which SWG to buy?

Just had a very informative discussion with one of the guys at SaltSolutions regarding their product. Based on that discussion I ordered a Hayward T-15. I will get a 2 year warranty, free shipping and a $95.00 rebuild if (or when) it wears out. Best guesstimate is about 5 years from...

    Which SWG to buy?

Thanks. but I think my calculation is correct. My pool is 3 foot on the shallow end and 6 foot on the deep. for a 4.5 average. It is a lap pool mainly for my 5'2" 73 yr old wilfe to use for her exercise. BUT I whole heartedly agree with you on the size. As a engineer who worked on the Apollo...

    Which SWG to buy?

I did something dumb rather than go with the info given me by the installer: I took my 25 ft tape and measured my pool. 25 X13X4.5X7.5= ? I get 10,125 gal. MY question is: Do I get a 25K system from Salt Solutions or a 40K system from them. Either is within my budget ...but 60 bucks is 60 bucks...

    Which SWG to buy?

OK, you have convinced me to install a SWG. So I now have another question. Should I buy a new Hayward T-15 or should I get a rebuilt from Salt Solutions and save close to $500? Any thoughts or experience with their products? Hal

    Question about SWGs

A sincere mahalo for all your replies. Now can you help an old man make up his mind. I think most of you agree that a Hayward is appropriate for my system and I agree with that....however....Several seem to be behind SaltSolutions as a supplier of systems. Now..if I can get a 20K Hayward( 2...

    Question about SWGs

I was looking at the Solaxx Saltron Retro only because of the advertised ease of installation. But I am sure that I can get a plumber for the Hayward unit for a few hundred dollars. It's just that when you have been self sufficient for 80 years it is very hard to get the work done by someone who...

    Question about SWGs

PS: No thoughts on the Solaxx?? I only looked at it for the ease of installation. A Hayward T-15 sounds good. As a retired NASA Engineer, a 50% oversize sounds like an exact fit! Thanks again, Hal

    Question about SWGs

Thanks guys. I should say that I am 80 years old with legs crippled by neuropothy so I get around only on my good days. That is why I need someone to do the maintenance for me. The engineer in me thinks that swg is the way to go. I just wonder why the pool install company ( Patio Pools) did not...
