    Hayward SP2295 UltraPro Lx Pump

Hey everyone, I tried disassembling my pump to clean up the motor. While trying to remove the motor-thru bolts I broke 3 of them off. I believe the bolts bolt through the motor endbell, and then into the plastic pump housing. Any ideas on how I can finish the disassembly. I tried pulling on...

DIY Redneck Summer Waves SFX Skimmer Basket

It’s working well, just the holes are too big. Still have a lot of gunk in the pump strainer.

DIY Redneck Summer Waves SFX Skimmer Basket

Hi all, I’m a bit of redneck by heart and enjoy making my own useful things. Especially if it can’t be bought. I was tired of the silly strainer basket that comes with the Summer Waves SFX Pump. The passages are way to big and allow too much gunk into the Pump Strainer basket(I converted to...

Hooking up sand filter to Summer Waves pool with skimmer

you can also cut the flange part of the intex hose off, just where it transitions, from a larger diameter to a smaller diameter, this will now fit a 1 1/2" connector, and hose clamp it tight.

    New Sand Filter Problem

Silly question maybe, but the port to your return jet isn’t plugged or anything? My bad works in whirlpool mode NM, can I delete my foot in the mouth posts? I sometimes leap before I’ve looked.

    Homemade Intex ‘A’ Adapter

Hey everyone, I did not reinvent the wheel here, I used @lamerem ‘s idea to also create a homemade Intex ‘A’ Adapter. Intex SWG Homemade Adapters I used basically the same pieces as he did but with ABS fittings instead of electrical PVC fittings which turned out cheaper for me here in Canada...

Is my pump/filter really big enough.

Yes unfortunately I put it in the skimmer. It was basically solid clarifier tablets in a mesh sock. Almost the size and shape of a pack of mentos. I can see what looks like clear flakes floating around the pool. Almost looks like fish food flakes, which I’m going to assume are the coagulated...

Is my pump/filter really big enough.

Hi just an FYI, the local supply company sold me a Crystal Stick(clarifier) that you throw in the skimmer. It treats up to 100000 litres, my pool is roughly 25000. I put a piece of sponge in my skimmer to see what it would collect and when I wring the sponge out I get a milky disgusting...

Is my pump/filter really big enough.

Oh believe me, I’ve lost faith in the pool stores selling me black magic. So when you say 25% would that be 4 PSI x 1.25= 5 PSI? Thanks for the suggestion and great advice to others.

Is my pump/filter really big enough.

Yes it has a gauge, clean pressure is about 4 psi, I’ve noticed a lot less flow around 8 so that’s where I backwashed. There are no swimmers in it yet as I’m still trying to clear it up. I don’t really know yet how often, I need to backwash normally, I’ve been backwashing a fair amount to to...

Is my pump/filter really big enough.

Hi everyone, I am new to TFP. I have an 18ft Summer Waves Elite steel frame pool. I converted to a sand filter Game Sandpro 35D, which they claim is sized up to 8000 gallons. I’ve actually done the math to find the correct volume of my pool, it is actually 212” diameter, and we keep the depth...

How do i increase outlet flow?

Use a hand valve at the filter outlet and throttle it closed a bit, to increase the pressure with a constant volume pump, you will sacrifice with flow. Don’t close it too much as you will risk damaging the pump.

Solar Cover Reels? Anyone make your own? HOW?

I know I am way too late for the party, but to stiffen up the pvc, buy as many lengths to gap your pool as you need and then buy another length or two with the extra length(s) slit it up the length of it with a table saw or jig saw or however you can, then you can compress it(shrink it’s...
