No bonding wire - mitigating risk?

Thank you for that answer @ajw22 ! So, until I have proper bonding installed, is there anything I can do or look out for in order to mitigate some of the danger?

No bonding wire - mitigating risk?

Hi, Discovered the other day that my pump does not have a bonding wire attached and since my pool is over 20 years old, there has likely been no bonding done at all. My question is this - without bonding, how much safer is it to just have the pump off while people are swimming in the pool...

    Cutting off the main drain

Does the main drain at bottom of my pool serve an important purpose? When I shut it off at the valve, the suction at the skimmers is so much better and the pool gets to looking really good.

CYA - do I still need it?

    Thanks Marty!

CYA - do I still need it?

I have very low CYA levels right now (about 20ppm), yet my FC burns off at a pretty slow rate (about 2ppm per day (my pool is only partly shaded by trees)). Is there still a good reason for me to add CYA in this situation? (I searched the forums before I wrote this but couldn't find a related...

    Low CYA, minimal FC burnoff

Hi again, So every time I do the CYA test the resulting water is almost completely clear (and I can see the dot just fine). So I assume I have very low CYA... probably around 20 or so. According to all I've read on here, my FC should be disappearing within hours in this hot Austin sun. But it's...

    First dive... but those skimmers

@YippeeSkippy Wow... there you go, weir doors. Don't have em - didn't know what they were until I googled em. Thanks Maddie!

    First dive... but those skimmers

Thanks to this wonderful site I was able to get my pool numbers perfect and the water crystal clear. So we had our first swim. It was real nice but the grime & leaves from the skimmers would come out as we splashed around and kinda ruin the perfect pool surface. If I clean the skimmers before...

Thank you so much. I will take your advice on the CYA sock and continue with the SLAM Process.

    Aspiring pool hacker

Awesome. Also, it's slightly visible in my pic, but there's a bit of algae greenness on certain parts of the pool - some in the middle & also around some of the walls and steps. I scrubbed those areas with a brush and vacuumed every day when the FC was up in the 20s. Still it persists. Is there...

    Aspiring pool hacker

Wow thank you for that quick reply. Yesterday when I tested, the FC was 12.5 and CC was 0, so I guess it fluctuates. I have not added any CYA to the water and I don't use pucks. All I did was SLAM with Leslie's PowPow (I know not good, but I have to use it up and then I'll switch to liquid). I...

    Aspiring pool hacker

Hi gurus! First time pool owner. I've read through Pool School, bought the premium version of PoolMath (it's great!), got the K-2006 kit and all that. My pool is 8kgal, concrete, standard chlorine, sand filter (pic attached). I hit it with a SLAM a little over a week ago and that cleared it up...
