Not initially, will use the Intelliflo3 relays to control the valves to change from pool mode to SPA mode by using a Manual Program.

    Flush Spa piping diagram

Great approach! If an IC30 is used at 50%, it will take about 7 hours to get from normal to SLAM levels considering the SPA volume of 700gal. It seems it shouldn't be an issue then.

    Flush Spa piping diagram

Thanks all for the feedback! Running in SPA mode with the SWG with this configuration wouldn't the FC levels to rise too much? Would this require lowering the SWG output while in SPA mode? Below updated diagram.

    Flush Spa piping diagram

I'm planning on starting the construction of a pool with flush spa during the upcoming weeks. The current plan is to use a single Intellifo3 pump and Intellichlor SWG for the water circulation/chlorination. The attached diagram shows the planned pool/spa piping and valve diagram. One of the...

    Automation manufacturer selection

Hi All, A friend of mine just had their pool built. The builder told them an automation system was not compatible with their equipment. Unfortunately, they were not aware of his lack of knowledge on pool automation. They got a Pentair Superflow VST and a Hayward 50K Heat Pump. Now the question...

    Stenner GPD tolerance question

I currently have a 12.3GPD stenner pump with a rated 1.09 oz per minute. The measured flow rate was 0.99 oz per minute, slightly lower rate as specified. Because of the way a peristaltic pump operates I would not expect a flow increase when the injector is disconnected.

    Above ground pool return leak

Today I found a leakage on the return fitting. A drop can be seen coming from the fitting outside thread. Attached a picture showing where the drop is forming. This is a 3 months old pool, so I think it might be too early for a bad inner gasket. The nut also seems to be properly tightened...

Stenner Econ T pump timer issue

Hi Olga, Does your acid pump have a built-in timer?

Stenner Econ T pump timer issue

It is indeed a dangerous bug. I’m planning to install a secondary timer connected to the filter pump timer. With this configuration I will energize the Stenner pump only during the first minutes of operation of the filter. This approach will require to synchronize the filter timer with the...

Stenner Econ T pump timer issue

Hi, I’m currently using a Stenner Econ T pump to dispense liquid chlorine. During startup testing I found a situation that can potentially cause the pump to continue running and not stopping at the programmed time. Since I saw some users are also using this pump I just wanted to share the...

    Above ground pool filled

Thanks for the help. I increased the CYA level to 50ppm as recommended. Now is looking a lot better, FC was raised to 7.5 yesterday night and was at 4.5 today evening. Let’s see how it behave during the week.

    Above ground pool filled

My concern is that at the end of the day I’m getting FC readings below the lower limit recommended for my CYA. Yesterday I was at 2.5FC with a minimum recommend of 3.0.

OCLT passed, there was no FC drop during the night. It was 6.5 at 9PM last night and it is 6.5 today at 5AM. CC continues to be 0.5. Please let me know any other suggestion.

    Above ground pool filled

I increased the CYA to 40 from 30 trying to reduce the amount of FC loss during the day. FC level was increased to 7.0 yesterday evening but was at 2.5 this evening. Is it normal to loose 4.5 FC in a sunny day? Could I be doing something wrong? Pool water is crystal clear and CC is 0.5.

    Above ground pool filled

Targeting 6.0 worked, today FC level was at 2.0 even after a heavy rain. Water level is now on the high side. I never imagined the water level would increase so much with rain water.

I have been targeting 4.5. I will then target 6.0 in the evenings. Thanks for the clarification.

Pool was again at 1.5 FC at the evening. Is this ok with my CYA of 30?

    Above ground pool filled

pH just hit 7.8 today. At what level should I put Muriatic Acid? Also, FC is at 1.5 FC in the evening, should I raise the FC target from 4.0? Recommended level with my CYA of 30 is from 2 to 6 FC.

I haven’t measure the water temp but the weather was about 80° F. I waited about an hour after putting the CYA to dilute the bleach. Is this enough time?

Now the pool is completely filled and the pump is running. Below the latest readings: FC: 1.0 pH: 7.5 CYA: 20 8 oz of CYA added and then 20oz of 8.25% bleach added to raise FC to 4ppm as recommended by PoolMath. Everything looking good so far.

The CYA was put into a sock and then place into a bucket while filling. No undiluted CYA was seen outside of the bucket.

    Above ground pool filled

Hi all. Finally today we started filling the new pool. Dry stabilizer was added during the filling up process. 8.25% Liquid bleach was added and the water manually stirred since the skimmer and pump is not installed yet. Below the water current levels: FC: 4.0 pH: 7.5 TA: 170 CH: 175 CYA: 30...
