2.5 year old pool, starting to have concerns

The discoloration is in a random "stained" or "blotching" pattern on the edges of steps, on the back wall, etc. I can try to take better pictures but the lines are just part of the problem. This photo is from the day the cover came off this season (so the pool is pretty dirty), but you can...

2.5 year old pool, starting to have concerns

I appreciate the quick response, as always. @seribus and @drseuss, any thoughts are very much appreciated. I'm wondering if I'll be back in the same place in a couple years that it's just not worth sinking money into this polyfibro fix at this point and waiting a few years until I really can't...

2.5 year old pool, starting to have concerns

A year later and I'm struggling with the same concerns as last year (after trying a few different techniques on the shell). I don't believe the pool discoloration is getting much worse though the deep end seems to be getting maybe a bit lighter. I reached out to the pool manufacturer and, after...

2.5 year old pool, starting to have concerns

Thanks much. I imagine I need to add CYA but I wont know until I get a good test in the coming days. But I can't imagine that would stain the fiberglass pool (though it would burn off my chlorine quicker). Looking closely at the pool, I'm noticing more staining throughout the pool. Pictures...

2.5 year old pool, starting to have concerns

Ran a few tests (I have to refill some test solutions so I couldnt run all right now). Here's what I have: FC 3.5 CC 0.5 pH 7.6 TA 55-60 CH 175 CYA ? SALT 3300 WATER TEMP 74 degrees CSI - do I have this test? I dont see it. Curious if anything from these numbers jumps out at you.

2.5 year old pool, starting to have concerns

Just an update - spoke to Blue Hawaiian and they say this is a chemical imbalance issue likely caused by the salt water generator. Does that sound correct? Anyone's thoughts here are appreciated.

2.5 year old pool, starting to have concerns

Hi all - This forum was very helpful 2.5 years ago when we installed our fiberglass pool and used an installer who we immediately began to have questions about (and ended up terminating them toward the end of our project). I've never been fully comfortable with our installation and have this...

    IC20 Red Flow Light

Well, it's fixed and I'm livid. After coming home from work and playing with thee wires more, I took the cell off to inspect it. When I went to screw the cell back in to the fitting, it hit me. There was nothing wrong with the cell or the flow switch. The pool guy who opened us up installed it...

    IC20 Red Flow Light

I put the red to black and I get a green flow light. What does this mean? Thank you in advance for your help.

    IC20 Red Flow Light

I saw a few old threads on the Intellichlor flow light staying red and so I apologize for starting a new one. In short, we just had the pool opened (we use a company to open and close the pool and I do the servicing in season) and the flow switch on our IC-20 is red though there is plenty of...

    Pump issues Pentair intelliflo

Ha, maybe it was the water level after all. Went outside to take a picture and the hose has been filling the pool. When I fired it back up, now it's running properly. I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks for the quick response.

    Pump issues Pentair intelliflo

Hi all, First summer as a pool owner has gone pretty smoothly and this board has been a huge help. Finally have my first issue. I cleaned the filter yesterday and put everything back together. Now starting up my pump (Pentair Intelliflo) and it fills up the basket, looks like it is primed and...

    Bugs...

Same thing -- they live in the corners and come out in the rain. I have been brushing roughly once a week and I need to stay on top of it. Since you're having them too, I think I'll just refer to them as "John Bugs" and assume he planted them there. :-)

    Bugs...

Really crazy. Disappeared after a skimming with net, cleaning skimmer, brush and vacuum. Salt cell now running at 100% overnight. Hopefully gone in the morning never to return.

    Bugs...

Ugh, just came out after a thunderstorm and found a whole lot of these tiny bugs congregating in the pool. Any idea what causes this and how I get rid of them? I had turned the pump off during the storm but just turned it back on. Chlorine level has remained high but is it possible we're...
