I will add chlorine to maintain FC of 6. Salt will be added next season. I will also adjust CYA next season. There is no in line chlorinator but the season is almost over. Next thing is the heater. I tried to fix it and it looks like the exhaust fan is dead and a lot of sensors are dead...

Slam is done. Pool is clear. Should I raise CYA? The pool doesn't have any salt. Looks like the SWG is new and was never turned on. The cell is for 40k pool. Thank you for all the help!!!! Perlite seems to work.

Pool looks better. Shallow end looks clean. Deep end - I can see bottom. There was a lot of dead algae. I vacuumed everything. The water is cloudy at the deep end. FC is holding at 15. I would love to know if I should get new grids. Thank you

Received the perlite today. Put 4.8 pounds in the morning. 2 hours later the pressure is up by 18 psi. Backwashed it 3 times. Added 4lb. 3 hours later pressure is at 30 psi. Backwashed 3 times, turn it on and the pressure was going up immediately. Opened the filter and it looks like the...

I discovered that most of the grids have broken pieces of plastic on the top. It is not a big section. 2-3 inches on each grid. The broken plastic pieces are loose in the bag. Is this a big deal? I am not familiar with DE filters. Got the perlite today. FC is above 12. The water is still...

Fiber clear is not good. I don't know how people use it. I tried premixing with water before adding it to skimmer. I also ordered perlite to try. I should get it tomorrow and will report back. I checked the FC 3 times today and added chlorine to keep it above 12. Thanks

I clean the filter every day. Take it apart and put it together. Please read the post above. Not using DE.

Here is the full explanation about the filter and backwash: I clean the filter completely, disassemble and reassemble. I fill the filter per instructions with 11 cups. Filter works the whole day pressure goes up slowly. At the end of the day I vacuum the pool. Nothing in the return jets...

I understand. I will test every couple of hours. Thanks. I usually backwash and after that vacuum without adding more fiber clear. It makes sense that algae shoots back into the pool

Got it. I test 2 times a day and adjust with chlorine. I will look at the reviews on Amazon! This is where I bought it from. Thanks.

Another thing is when I vacuum from bottom the algae was going back into the pool. I vacuumed yo waste but that lowers the water in the pool.

I maintain FC of 12. I test the water and if it is below 12, I add liquid chlorine to make it 12.

Ok. Here are some updates. CYA 20 TA 70 PH 7.2 I can see the bottom in the shallow end. Still cloudy but better. I am adding chlorine every day. Vacuumed the bottom a couple of times. Filter is having the same issue. Gets clogged every day. Pressure goes up by 15. Back washing doesn't get...

Fc 15 My filter is not back washing fiber clear. It was completely clogged up. I washed all the grids and put it back together. I back washed 3-4 times during the last couple of days and it looks like all the fiber clear is still there in the filter, towards the bottom. It is all clumped up...

I did read the SLAM. It tells you to adjust ph before you start. This is why I was asking if I should increase the ph. I will check ph again after I add baking soda. Thanks
