    Envy pool stools

Looking to add some stools to our pool and just seeing if anyone has these and, if so, thoughts? I was also wondering if you could fill with salt vs sand? My only other concern would be how they would hold up and if it would be difficult or affect the longevity (the handling and moving) to pull...

    Foam for weir door

Replaced the foam by cutting the closed cell insulation down from Menards…worked so well! Already algae has gone down and none in skimmer box. Beginning to think this was my culprit.

    Foam for weir door

Thanks! I have checked all and and I brush multiple x /day. I don’t keep the best notes but I test and add 3-4x a day as well. I also backwash more frequently as I have a sand filter and want to rid dead algae from reappearing. My water is crystal and I’ve passed an OLCT but still see a bit of...

    Foam for weir door

I have perused some threads about purchasing a closed cell foam to cut down and replace the foam behind my weir doors and wondering if someone can confirm if this would work? I’m thinking I may have some algae spores stuck in the foam that aren’t allowing me to complete my opening slam...

Pro's and Con's solar pool cover

Morning pool temp is 75…2 degree loss from last night. I’ve thought the same about securing down somehow but haven’t come up with anything as the cover works best when touching the water as it creates sort of a seal. And everything I could think of seemed more of a PITA.

Pro's and Con's solar pool cover

This may help some, but I do find that if all my sections blow to one corner leaving half the pool exposed, I do still end up losing a lot of heat. With all four of quadrants covering, I have very minimal loss. Tonight’s temps will get down to 48 so will be interesting to see as I have the...

Pro's and Con's solar pool cover

I’d love suggestions to this as well. I’ve tried having another person with the net skim as the covers are being pulled. I’ve also tried pulling the covers carefully up onto the deck and then hosing off. It’s the little debris and dust/dirt that’s the problem. All seems like a lot more added...

Pro's and Con's solar pool cover

I’m battling with our cover(s) often. I did the DIY 4 sections attached to buoyant pvc piping. Easy to manage for our 18 x 38 rectangular pool. If there is no wind, they work amazingly. Any gusts 15-20mph which we seem to get a lot and all my effort/time ends up in the corner of the pool to be...

SLAM question… where do I go from here.

I have checked the basket as I rinse after each cleaning. It doesn’t appear like sand as there are no tiny rocks that I can see. Just a light brown dirt like substance. We are up on a hill though and the backyard faces south. Because of the constant excavation, dirt must get blown in as I can...

SLAM question… where do I go from here.

I’ve vacuumed about 3x and then put the robot in 3x as well. It always gets the stuff but it ends up coming back. I haven’t vacuumed to waste though as I really don’t want to waste a bunch of water. And I haven’t put the robot in for a couple days as the water temp dropped.

SLAM question… where do I go from here.

Thanks for your reply! I think I’m gonna let the FC drift down then and maybe do one last OCLT tonight at lower FC to once again confirm. I’m assuming this is just something I have to live with and best to just brush toward the filter when it accumulates?

SLAM question… where do I go from here.

Hi all! Been slamming for about 10 days now. First few days were tough with 30mph+ Winds. Past OCLT 2 nights in a row now and water is crystal clear. First time with no major cloudiness at the lights at night. However, I’m still showing a brown sediment in areas such as creases, a bit in the...

Did I make a big mistake?

yes, I tested when I realized I had forgotten to account for a portion of the pool drained from the normal 22K gallons. The reading was 20. Just got done brushing some more. Trying to keep it circulating. At the very least, I’ll have some pretty arms as a result.

Did I make a big mistake?

Decided to open earlier this year in hopes of avoiding algae. Pool company will be coming out tomorrow so I removed the cover and unfortunately found a green pool. Tested and found no FC. Figured I would add a bit of bleach to get started. CYA is at 30 and I added 2.5 gal of 12.5% bleach. Forgot...

Is this bleach ok to use?

About closing time and all our local stores are out of chlorinating liquid which is all I've ever used when slamming. Would like to bring to SLAM level before closing and wondering if anyone could tell me if this bleach was ok to use. Thanks...

    Can’t pass OCLT…any suggestions?

Let FC drop to 20 yesterday which confirmed at night testing. Early morning FC testing was 17.5, 0 cc. Wasn’t able to check drains yesterday for possible algae source as busy getting ready for vacation. Added 1.5 gallons 10% bleach before leaving and set Swg to 60%. We will see what the return...

    Can’t pass OCLT…any suggestions?

Thanks so much for your reply. Good to know about the lights. I have cleaned the vial and magnetic pill with bleach nightly. I also do take sample from same spot. I will let fall and retest tonight. It’s a lot of drops and though I try to be very consistent, I’m wondering about error. Is it...

    Can’t pass OCLT…any suggestions?

Started slam seven days ago after water seemed slightly cloudy. No visible algae on floor or walls and no green water. Lowered ph to 7.2, CYA at 60 (several tests so confident) raised FC to 24 slam level. Cc was present. Pool very clear within a couple days. Other notes… Brushing 1-2x daily and...
