This is just a for my information question why shouldn't you run the pool over the top?

My fill water rate is higher than my pump to waste. Fill water is probably about 10 degrees cooler. So it will not hurt anything if I am only pulling from my skimmer and not my main drain?

Read the "draining - further reading". Can I turn my filter to waste and only let it pull from the skimmer and close off the main drain while filling pool with fresh water in the deep end and if it gets higher than the edge of the pool just let it run over? Would this give me the outcome and...

There is no way I am able to drain as much water as recommended. Any other options
