    Metal in water

Ok. I’ll just keep the polyfil going and DE. the only reason I said copper was it was so light in green color vs last years brown. But I’ve followed all TFP guides learning lessons from an older pool. Only thing added was bleach 12.5%, some left over cya and borax. let me drop the FC and...

1st test results : under shock

Finally cleared up. Brought it to shock level one last time. For tomorrow night overnight loss test, do I leave it alone and just test at dusk and don’t bring it up to shock level at night? So if it is at 17 ppm at night leave it alone and test in morning?

1st test results : under shock

Nothing much to update. I keep filtering, cleaning carriages, skimming, vacuuming and adding chlorine up to slam level. Still not crystal clear but it will get there I’m sure. The loss of chlorine is much less. I didn’t have time this morning to check the levels and when I checked tonight...

Thanks. That was always confusing in the reading materials indicating not to let it drop below slam level. Figured why not bring it to 23 and it goes down to 20 and then bring up to 23 again. Makes sense to just keep raising it back up to 20 to save chlorine and liner wear and tear.

Still plugging away, keeping it above slam level. Adding extra with sun to keep it high enough. It is clear but not “crystal” yet. Current pic:

8pm check. Big drop given this was probably at 24 level this morning but tons of sun and still killing algae im sure FC 19 I decided to bring it up to 28 because it will be very sunny tomorrow and I will not have time for a morning check. Filter is running great. I’ll post when it is...

Still a little cloudy. Can really see the bottom now. FC was at 20 so I put a little more in to offset loss from any sun today. I put in to make it 22 and realized I put the wrong % bleach into PoolMath so it’s going to jump to 24 now but it’s all good. Hoping tomorrow will be better

I kind of lost track. It was black when I started. I think I’m on day 13 today but I had so much cya I’m not sure I was slamming that whole time Still a little cloudy today. Test just now was 21ppm so I will keep it up until clear. I Have to vacuum tomorrow cause I saw some dirt popping up.

Thank you. Yes. Plan to just do that tomorrow. I’m so glad I found this forum. I didn’t want to mess up all I did already so figured I would bring it back up to the slam level overnight 39ppm and we are going to drain and fill tomorrow. It’s such a small pool it was only 5 cups of my bleach...

Just read that test for cya needs to be with done back to full sun so I’m going to retest tomorrow. Folks said it’s hard to get right. FC is 35 and pool was black last week with no added chlorine in 7 days and kept getting better so I’m hoping I did test wrong and it’s a lower cya. I used...
