PVC three way valve - full port

I think in this case there is a difference, hard 90s vs sweeps the difference is frictional losses which affect pump's performance and head requirement, I don't see one or two elbows make a appreciable difference, but if you are talking about 30 elbows that could add up, but then again if the...

PVC three way valve - full port

Yes it is for the waste discharge, but since it is restricting all three ports of that tee, even when the waste branch is not used which is 99.9% of the time, it is a bottle neck just exiting the pump and entering the filter, it will become a bottle neck to the entire run. I have full port ball...

PVC three way valve - full port

Should the tee for the waste line be upstream or downstream of the filter?

PVC three way valve - full port

It is a FIBROPOOL 3 way ball valve. Not a Jandy. Here are some pictures. You can see in the second image, that inside the hub there is another reduction in the white PVC by about 1/4", then the black plastic piece in the middle has another reduction.

PVC three way valve - full port

I am trying to add a tee to my line to remove water from the pool/spa when the water level is too high, like after days of heavy rain. Should this tee be added after the pump before the filter, or after the filter? I know I can do it with a tee and two ball valves, may be it's cleaner to use a...

Intermatic T1004RT1 enclosure timer switch stuck

I have a puzzling one. I have an Intermatic T1004RT1 enclosure with a timer inside. The switch will not turn to the ON position, not even manually. I checked the breakers, they are fine and getting power. Even the timer I can hear the tick tick tick. The dial is moving and the time is...

    Three way PVC ball valves

I have some questions about three way PVC ball valves. You have a lever that controls which way the water is being diverted to branch "A" or "B". I have a few of these made by Jandy and typically the way I use it is to set the return line to go to "A" the pool or to "B" which may be the spa...

River roses up higher than the street, water came into the property and joining the pool/spa

So every day after work I spent a few hours cleaning up. Literally everywhere, raking and netting the pool, the spa, the pond, getting mud out of the patio and driveway pavers, to restacking retainer walls, to replacing planting beds, to wiping down and trashing stuff in my garage. I have 12...

Is there such a thing as a "temp" spa cover?

My spa cover is 90" in diameter a round circle with a fold down the middle. If I use plywood and if it rains (and it rains every day here) it will warp and twist and fall apart fairly quickly. I am not concerned about heat retention or locking it, it's an in ground spa with a concrete shell so...

Is there such a thing as a "temp" spa cover?

I am about to start a project in the backyard involving installation of new pavers for a patio area right next to the pool and separate in ground spa. There will be excavation, workers and tools, it will be dusty and my relatively new (60 day old) $500 spa cover is going to be stepped on and...

River roses up higher than the street, water came into the property and joining the pool/spa

"swg" means salt water right? no this is a fresh water pool, but the nearby river came up and that river is brackish so there is some salt in the water. The neighbors said she heard some of the sewers overflew so who knows what is in this water. I have been brushing and using a net to get...

River roses up higher than the street, water came into the property and joining the pool/spa

OK so it's connected to this device that appears to be broken for a while. I have yet to get it repaired. If leaves and dirt got inside these pipes that is for air how would that be cleaned out? I need to flush it from the other end? I can see some leaves are not coming out due to the grille...

River roses up higher than the street, water came into the property and joining the pool/spa

I have a question about my spa. It was installed in 1992 several owners ago so some things puzzled me. Around the spa are four jet nozzles, when I set the return line to go to the spa, water shoots out from those water jets. I have shown in the picture below the water jets in yellow...

River roses up higher than the street, water came into the property and joining the pool/spa

so last few days have been exhausting with cleaning out all the flood damages, not only the pool and spa, but also everywhere in the yard is a mess, plus the 2 feet of water in the garage so everything below that are ruined. I added some shock into the pool and spa. After a day the pool water...

River roses up higher than the street, water came into the property and joining the pool/spa

I called a few companies and they all said they would run it through the pump and filter and just clean the filter frequently, which doesn't address the issue with the debris getting into the pump and pipes. I will keep calling to see if I find someone better.

River roses up higher than the street, water came into the property and joining the pool/spa

Oh I see. I do have a ball valve that can divert water out of the pool and dump into the yard, but that valve is set up after the pump and filter.

sorry about my ignorance, what is "vacuum to waste". Do you mean a separate machine that vacuums the bottom and discharge the water outside? Is this something I can buy or rent from a pool supplies company? Or there is a service that specialize on that?
