    Hi, I just need to make sure I am on the right track. Background - last Thursday my main pump motor failed due to high resistance windings. The new motor arrived a day later, installed, primed pump and switched on (while priming I close both skimmer returns and just have the main drain open)...

    On hand at the moment I have 8 gallon of 12.5% chlorine (Sodium hypochlorite) 2 gallons muriatic acid 25lb CYA I can only fit 4lb CYA in my aquarium sock so will let that dissolve Will test FC and CC in 30 minutes.

    Thanks for the feedback. I'll add 64oz of 12% chlorine now to achieve 3ppm. The pool did have CYA but Houston has had severe rain and I have to admit I did not keep up over winter. I will review the literature and work on the PH. Again thank you.

    Hi I would appreciate some advice. Results from Taylor K2006 FC - 1ppm CC - 0.4ppm PH - 7.8PPM CYA - 0 TA - 110ppm CH - 150ppm CSI - -0.10 It looks like I need to add : 28.3lb dry acid to reduce TA to 70ppm 99lb calcium chloride to increase CH to 400ppm 3.795pts to reduce PH to 7.4ppm 21lbs...
