    Jandy TruClear flow rate reading

I know that the TruClear has some type of flow rate sensor because it will only generate if above 20 gpm. Does anyone know if it is possible to get flow rate readings out of it? This would be a very beneficial feature to have.

    Jandy ipump01 and JEP-R controller

Is it possible to use both the ipumpt01 and the JEP-R on the same VS pump? I really like the idea of the ipump01 for better customization. However, I do not like that you loose the ability to make manual manipulations without having a smart phone around.

    Run schedules

Is there a strategy or preferred scheme of running your pump? I'm installing an Jandy iqpump01 today and will have the ability to fully customized run schedules. Until know, I've typically ran the pump late evening and into the night on low RPMs. Would there be advantages in running for...

To robot or not to robot?

....that is the question. I'm a third year pool owner. Our installer included a Polaris TR28P pressure side cleaner with Polaris PB4-6 booster pump. It does a decent at picking up debris, but lately it seems to want to get stuck at the base of a wall or fly around in the middle of the water...

    Plastic items becoming brittle

I'm not sure how she maintained her pool last year. I do know that last year was Year #2 since new. She simply set the SWG at 100% and let it ride.

    Plastic items becoming brittle

A friend of our called me over to help with her SWG system. I posted about that problem in the appropriate forum. While there, she told me about another issue that I'm going to share here. Various plastic components in her pool is deteriorating at a really fast rate. She had gone through...

Helping a friend out with Hayward SWG system problem

A church friend of ours asked me to take a look at her SWG. When she opened it up this season, the reading on the AquaRite panel was low she she began adding bags of salt. She ended up adding 18 bag and didn't get the reading to change much. So she stopped there and asked for help. When I...

    It is "Trouble Free"

Growing up, I watched my dad fight season after season with our swimming pool. Start ups were the worst... always removed the cover to find a swamp. So I was a little apprehensive after having our pool installed. I'm glad I found you guys! This is my second year opening up our pool. After...

    Recommended FC levels after opening

I uncovered my pool yesterday and have the following initial test results. I've already added some LC and stabilizer to address the FC and CYA. FC = 2.0 CC =0.0 pH = 7.0 TA = 50 CH = 75 CYA 15 SALT = 1400 Before adding anymore chemicals, I'll get another sample (since the pump has been on...

    Recommended FC levels after opening

Thanks for the replies. I actually was able to remove the cover and get everything going yesterday evening. The water was clear but there was A LOT of pollen on the surface and some leaves. Running the pump overnight took care of most of that pollen. Below are my initial results. I've...

    Recommended FC levels after opening

I have a 24k SWG pool and am planning on opening this weekend. This is only my second opening. Do you recommend using liquid chlorine to get the FC up or let the SWG run at 100% until the level is reached? Speaking of recommended FC levels, would you adjust to get the recommended FC level or...

    DIY solar heaters

I've seen many youtube videos of DIY solar pool heaters using coils of black drip irrigation and water pumps. Have any of you had any success with these to actually increase water temps in spring to a comfortable swimming temperature? I'm in NW Ga.

    When to stop SLAMing

Passed the OCLT as well as the other criteria for a successful SLAM. Lets NOT have to do this again! Thanks all.

    When to stop SLAMing

It appears that the app pulls the CYA based on the last test log. So, it pulled a CYA of 35 as used it in determining the proper SLAM FC rate. However, it does allow you to override the CYA value.

    When to stop SLAMing

Thanks all..... The water clarity has improved but still not clear. I will increase FC to 16 and continue to rock on. However, I am using the PoolMath app. It told me to take it to 14. I guess it doesn't round up CYA

Thanks. I'll perform the OCLT tonight. I didn't do the test last night because it was pouring rain here and it would probably effect the results.

    When to stop SLAMing

Second year pool owner. Last year was a breeze with no problems what so ever. Last week was VBS at my church so didn't have the chance to go out to take a look at my pool's condition. Saturday morning, I go out to find that the pool was covered with mustard algae. I immediately brush it...

    Strategy for running VS pump

What is your strategy or schedule for running your VS pump? Do you run 24/7 at a lower rpm? How many turns do you shoot for in a 24 hr period? Do you run consecutively or on and off throughout the day? Our pool go finished up a couple weeks ago and I've just been running the pump...

    Should I lower TA?

Well.... I didn't get the decrease to pH that I was expecting. I could not find any MA, so I used a product called pH Down (93.2% Sodium Bisulfate). I added 40 oz, which was slightly conservative from the directions (50 oz). 24 hours after adding, here are my results: FC 5.0 CC 0.5 pH 8.0 TA...
