    Betta SE Plus

Took the plunge and added the Betta Plus SE to my aquatic robot family. Inaugural swim going well so far.

Aiper Smart 1500 cordless robotic pool cleaner review

I’ve got the Aiper Orca 1200 and have a terrible time with the cord getting tangled in the water. Any tips? Thinking I should have just gone cordless.

Aiper Seagull -- Smallest Robot Vacuum Available?

I have the Aiper seagull 600 cordless and the Aiper Orca Pro 1200 corded. They are both well made. I bought the seagull 600 more as a novelty and mostly use the corded one for true cleaning. That said, I was surprised at how much the little 600 did pick up. It is really only supposed to be used...

    Considering a robot

Looks like Marina Pool and Spa has the Triton PS in stock which is apparently similar to the S200 and will be getting the S200 in soon this spring. Good to know, if I end up going with the Dolphin brand I'll definitely give Marina call along with my local brick n mortar dealer for pricing. I'm...

    Considering a robot

I am not finding any s200 either. I wonder if they quit making them? I see a DX3,DX4, & DX5 series though that looks similar. I wonder if they replaced the s200/S300 series. It looks like some models have a basket style filter you pull out vs the Nautilus has two separate square filters. I...

    Considering a robot

Well I am so glad you mentioned this. I had just opened the Maytronics webpage and was instantly overwhelmed with all of the choices. Lol. Who knew there were that many dolphins out there!! The S200 seems like exactly what I need. I can't imagine needing to program out multiple days of cleaning...

    Considering a robot

@fishbait I am in the almost exact same situation as you. But instead I have a pressure cleaner with a booster pump but have decided it is time to upgrade into the robotic cleaners world. I am just starting my research today so still not sure which robotic I'll end up with (or even what's...

automating a Polaris and Apure Salt Cell

I think I am going to go with this one but very similar I believe. Intermatic ET8215C Time Switch, 2-Circuit/30-Amp, Gray - Wall Timer Switches - Amazon.com

automating a Polaris and Apure Salt Cell

WOW, my mind is blown. Embarrassed to admit this but I did not realize Intermatic made anything but the mechanical ones! Amazing. I think this is exactly what I am needing. Thanks!!!

automating a Polaris and Apure Salt Cell

Thanks PG, any recommendations on these type of programmable timers? You are correct, my current timer is a basic mechanical one. Never even thought that I could retrofit it with something more complex. I guess a digital programmable timer would possibly work? I didn't know if there was...

automating a Polaris and Apure Salt Cell

Just the version that is embedded on the IQ pump I think. I also don't have the model pump that comes with the aux relay switch.

automating a Polaris and Apure Salt Cell

Sorry, yes the booster pump that feeds the 380 is hooked up to the timer. I'll have to snap some pics tonight but I know I don't have any automated valves at all. I think water just always flows through the pipe to the pressure side cleaner but only when the booster pump kicks on does it move...

automating a Polaris and Apure Salt Cell

Hey everyone, I currently have a polaris 380 that is hooked up to a intermatic timer with trippers. I also have an aquapure salt cell that is hooked up to a separate intermatic timer (currently with no trippers). I have a new 1.65hp variable speed Jandy Pump that I control with a iQPUMP01...

    Testing Comparisons - TF-100 vs. Color Q

The expiration date should be printed on each individual bottle (FC, TC, PH, etc) Mine have varied considerably but the CH2 is always very short.

    Testing Comparisons - TF-100 vs. Color Q

Check the expiration for your CH2 vial. It has a very short shelf life. Like 6 months or less (expired can give false low readings). I use a ColorQ as well but also have the Taylor K-1515 test kit for SLAMMING purposes (K-1515 is the FAS-DPD chlorine test that is in both the TF100 and K-2006...

Hot climates chime in.. how much CYA do you lose?

This is an extremely dumb question but how does CYA leave the pool other than splash out or backwash? (or maybe this is a dumb question that requires a very technical answer -- eager to learn)

For those of you with grass at or close proximity to pool edge ---

I typically bag my clippings so there isn’t a lot that goes in the pool from the actual mower per se. The bigger problem is afterwards when I get out the string trimmer to clean up the quarter inch edge my mower doesn’t get between my cut and the stone. I have thought about getting a grass...

T-3 cell on 700 gl spa — keep it dialed low? too much?

I am thinking about putting a T-3 Hayward Salt Cell on my 700 gallon spa. The T-3 is rated for 15k gallons. Has anybody tried this and successfully dialed the production down low enough for the chlorine level to not be overkill?

    Droplets — FAS DPD test

I have been previously using the Taylor Kit K-1515 FAS DPD drop kit but when I ran out of the R-0871 .75 oz bottle I went ahead and purchased the TFT R-0871 2 oz refill bottle. Can I just use this 2 oz bottle for droplets in my test or do I need to transfer it back into the .75 oz Taylor bottle...

    Ahhsome - foam

Yes great idea! I starting doing this some as well when the mound was getting pretty high. Till my shop vac broke ... ? Surprisingly I didn’t have the vast gunk scum lines like I have seen from others. Maybe I need to do another purge and loosen things up even more? ?

    Ahhsome - foam

Ohhhhh, so I should have used 3.5 teaspoons instead of 8 .... ??. I definitely saw some gunk for sure in the foam. Little black pieces of nasty. I will say I didn’t see a big nasty scum line after the drain like I have seen pictures of on some of the fiberglass tubs but I also only have six jets...
