    Dolphin Mercury randomly running

Have a Dolphin Mercury corded robot cleaner. In the past couple weeks hav had connection issues. When those issues were resolved, now in the past week it randomly starts a cleaning cycle. Not that it is a bad thing except power usage. Any ideas on the issue?

    Worms

Found a new critter in the pool today. 2 horsehair worms. Learn something new every day. They can be infested in bugs such as crickets (which they are in season in NW Ohio) and when adult stage, can leave their host and into water to leave to find a new host or to multiply. Good note is they...

Let Me Pull Up a Chair....

I do believe the cell can be in the downward position. some plumbing to be done but you could put the cell just below the 90 going down. Obviously you would need to measure to see it if would fit. Worst case, get a new T for where your booster is. Cut off as close to the edge of both sides...

Let Me Pull Up a Chair....

Looking great! I switched over from Baqucil to SWG at opening and had to relearn pool testing. Overwhelming at first but I was diligent with nightly testing after the sunset. I was able to dialin my SWG RJ30+ to around 30-40% running on a timer from 6am to 930pm for my 13,700 gallon pool with...

    Pink algae

No, I never used Assist. I tried the Awesome product but it didn't remove everything either. Line Cleaner may have helped but still found the gunk in other areas. I believe that by 2018, my Baquacil AD system finally died. I was adding in a calculated amount of Oxidizer, Sanitizer and...

Yep, had me one of them thar fancy chocolate shakes. If you plan to convert, this is the place for answers and encouragement. The recent recorded webinars have been very informative. The test kits spoken here are top notch, easy to use even for a colorblinded joe like myself. Hope you can...

Nice village, been there many times. The Barn still a favorite restaurant, was there a few weeks ago after seeing the new 'town' at the Village to the North. Here was my step by step, almost day to day conversion: May the fun begin - conversion of 15 yr Baquacil pool Its long but very...

IF you plan to stay with Baquacil, to get rid of the white mold you'll need several gallons of Oxidizer, Line Cleaner if you can find it and the non-chlorine powder shock. You will need to tear down and clean your filter. Most likely a sand filter? You'll need to pull off the multi-port and...

    Slow Baqua Conversion

It took 12 days before mine converted and I changed the filter. I had sand but wanted better and installed DE. My first 7-8 days I was working from home and I was testing and adding as needed every hour or two, from 7am to 10 pm. Ran pump non-stop. Even after all thar chlorine, about 24-25...

TFP Expert Discussion - SaltWater Chlorine Generators

After my conversation to a TFP Liquid chlorine pool, I bought salt for what I thought I would need for the SWG system. A feller on here highly suggested I test for sodium, and add salt slowly over a few days and test daily prior to adding the next batch. My first test prior to adding was...

    Robotic Pool Cleaner Recommendations

My first robot was a rebranded Dirt Devil QC of the Aquavac/Tiger Shark brand. Bought in 2008, I replaced a couple sets of belts, numerous filters and 1 motor since then. There are still parts for it but last week, it gave up again. Didn't feel like trying a $500 motor or if that didn't work...

If I'm going to convert in the spring, would it be best to stop adding anymore CDX? Or doesn't it really make much difference by next year?

Yes a whole month would get you a clear, TFP pool. 1-2 weeks of dumping 12% liquid chlorine should do the trick. Just before you leave, clean your filter, plumb in a SWG system, test for a week and let it go. Take your trip and enjoy knowing a crystal clear pool will be ready for you on your...

Here we go again...filter pressure went crazy after farmer cut the field next to the pool!

I've been using the pool skimmer socks and the Crud they trap in just one day is crazy. I find if I have to leave the pool for a few days, I have to remove as it gathers too much. Something else to try and combat issues with Crud in the drain lines. Even after converting to chlorine and now...

    Naegleria fowleri

When water is balanced and you're not fighting the hidden white mold demon in the pool lines or in the sand filter...baquacil is a good product. We always enjoyed not having the chlorine smell or dryness. If the product wasn't so expensive and needing the attention it did, we might have stayed...

    Naegleria fowleri

Sorry, haven't been on here for a few days. Baqucil was great for the first few years. I wasn't trained well and didnt have many Baquacil resources other than my supplier of the product. When issues began with cloudy water, I was to add more Sanitizer, more Oxidizer. Use flocculant, let the...

If I'm going to convert in the spring, would it be best to stop adding anymore CDX? Or doesn't it really make much difference by next year?

Do you have room to put in a temporary diverter from them pump? A simple union and section of pipe to blast the nasty stuff out temporarily. Then add water, and filter. 2 fold, remove baquacil goo when vacuuming and dilute as you refill to level.

    Fiberglass waterline issue

While I was usi g baquacil products, I would use their Surface cleaner. A small, quarter sized dot on a non-abrasive pad would clean 3-4 feet of surface edge, very easily. Does anyone know if this is suitable for a chlorine/SWG pool?

If you are up for some floc, I have some leftovers from my past life! 2 different flavors, liquid or crystal. Having self medicated my pool with guidance here, dump 2 gallons of 12% LC for the next 8-10 days. You'll clear up your pool and not have to charge your DE again this summer. I...
