    Idiot dropped plug down pipe

This idiot started opening the pool and dropped a plug down a pipe and wondering if it's time to call a pro. Right next to my skimmer is my Paramount in floor cleaning system debree canister/basket. It has four holes in it, one hole on side gets water from the skimmer, one hole on other side...

New leak, suggestions on how to redo PVC plumbing

Pool plumbing sprang a new leak and wondering what the best approach might be to fix this. I could just tackle the new leak, image on the left, we have sprung a leak right above the pump. I tried marine epoxy, which worked on the pump on the right last year (see gray mess right above the pump...

Pump tripping breaker, repair electrical wire?

I just did a pump seal replacement to stop a leak, which worked, however the pump is now tripping the circuit breaker after it turns on. The wires that attach to the pump have a few nicks and small areas of wire exposed, they have seen better days. I'm wondering if this is causing the pump to...

Intellitouch no longer turning Mastertemp heater off

My Intellitouch is no longer turning the Mastertemp 400 heater off. Came home and pool was 90+ (temp was set at 81) No errors displayed on the mastertemp. I went through it with support and they seem to think it's an automation issue with Intellitouch board. Pushing heater button on...

Mastertemp 400 and diverter valve position

Trying to understand if the red valve in the picture, I believe it's my diverter valve for the heater, is in the best position. I don't recall ever touching it since the heater was installed a few years ago, but trying to understand flow and how it should be positioned. Thanks for any input.

Spa, why one jet has weak bubbles?

I have an in-ground spa that has 6 jets, but one jet just bubbles up the wall and splashes excessively out of the spa.. When I put my hand against the jet, there is not a strong stream of water like the other jets. Wondering how to troubleshoot, or what could be the issue? The jet next to it...

Ideas for heating inground Spa with cold Pool

Getting colder and want to keep using our inground spa while I stop heating the pool in preparation for closing it for the winter. I"m guessing I should keep the spa cover on to keep some heat in, and I'll still run the spa and pool filter to keep water balanced. There is a 2" pipe about 5'...

Help Priming Pump at Opening - Pump Far Away and Higher

I started opening myself last year and getting the pump to prime was tough. This year I'm having the same prime the pump challenge, so thought I would look for suggestions. The pump is about 75' from the skimmer, and probably about 2-3" higher in elevation from the pool. The spa is much closer...

    Help identify spa eyeballs

Hoping someone can suggest replacement eyeballs for my spa or provide some insights on what I'm working with. The ones that came with the spa are push-in/slip-in and all the same size, some had electrical tape wrapped around to keep them secured in the pipe. I"m guessing someone installed the...

Calcium hardness and pitting, raise CH?

Year 2.5 of SWG pool ownership and I noticed some pitting on the plaster pool wall near our flagstone waterfall that has always shown signs of calcium buildup. Believe I should raise my Calcium Hardness, here are my latest test results. Is using Ice Melt like this from Lowes if I can find it...

    Identify skimmer for float valve

I’ve owned the pool for a couple years and realized there is no skimmer float valve and I loose prime pretty easily if leaves are In the basket. Any idea what skimmer model I have? Lid says pentair, but no model number. Pool was built in 2005. Thanks,

Calcium removal using MA, can you be in the water?

We have calcium buildup on our flagstone waterfall wall and the pool tiles and after reading a bunch of thread I've started using MA to try and remove it. Is it a bad idea to be in the pool when working on the wall? MA scares me being new to a pool, so I haven't, but it would make the job so...

New Pool Owner - recent results

This was our first season, haven't had any issues but a lot of rain last month and I'm seeing some differences in my numbers, overall water is great, only complaint is it's a bit cloudy. We'll be open for one more month, not sure I should be concerned about the CYA this late in season? Pool...

First time pool owner - first test results...

Bought our house recently and first time pool owners, looking for input on first test results. We opened with little knowledge to a green pool and have been learning. Pool service dumped in about 10lbs of shock at open, pool was green for a while so we added more shock, and over 3 weeks the...
