Just found a crack in our newish pool...

I do not have any pictures of the rebar stage unfortunately. But based on the fact that the pool is built on a slope with no soil engineering I am guessing the pool is not going to stop moving. I have spoken with two pool inspectors (actually they are both well versed in pool failure analysis)...

    Structural crack help

Quick update. Have been dealing with the lady who is in charge of the service department. We sent an email over the weekend asking for an explanation as to the cause of the crack and that we were not happy with with the quality of the patch. Her reply was that it would blend over time and to...

    Structural crack help

You are all amazing and I truly appreciate you taking the time to respond. I will continue down the path of working with the builder all the while investigating my legal options and working with a 3rd party of necessary. Y'all provided a ton of great information.

    Structural crack help

Thanks for the links! At least I know this is not the first time this has occurred. I'm wondering how much we should have known prior to building. Should the layperson know to get an engineering report for the soil orthat on a sloping property the pool needs to be built differently? Or are...

    Structural crack help

We have pictures of everything. The pool appears to be level, based on the tile grout line. With no information from the builder yet other than doing the patch I have been forced to come up with my own theory as to what is occuring based on the information I have come across in the last few...

    Structural crack help

Thanks for all of the replies. I have been looking through the documentation we received from the pool builder. Within that were the plans they used to build the pool. Apparently they purchased the plans from a company (pool engineering) and they are "series 100" which are standard pool...

    Structural crack help

The cracks appear to be diagonal from each other, one twords the deep end and the other from the deep end side of the step. Definitely seem to be related.

    Structural crack help

I do not believe that there was any engineering with regards to the soil. Unfortunately we made the assumption that the pool builder was guiding us through the process and would inform us of any necessary actions on our part. I did find the pool plans and they were stamped by a p.e. so that is...

    Structural crack help

2.5 years ago we had a pool built. Ended up going with the most expensive of the bids because the company had been in business for the longest (by far) and we felt the owner was a "straight shooter" and genuinely came across as knowledgeable. As they built the pool in spring and we're extremely...

Just found a crack in our newish pool...

Unfortunately I have no answer to any of those questions :/. Truthfully we just assumed that by having well established pool company build the pool we would not have issues. Those are questions I would have never thought to ask and I'm guessing that most people would not have asked. The pool...

Just found a crack in our newish pool...

Our pool is a little over 2 years old. Noticed the yesterday that the auto fill was operating in the afternoon which was odd and the water level was a bit low. Last night turned off the water to the autofill and found the water level was approximately 2" below normal operating level. Looked...

Rust, mustard algae or something else?

Thanks for taking the time to get that information. Within the last year that brought an additional treatment stage online to reduce the arsenic and possibly uranium??? I believe that is why they are providing all of the information.

Rust, mustard algae or something else?

Ch-6ppm, ph-7.6, salt 3800ppm, cya- 70, cal hardness 325ppm, and alkalinity was 80 a few weeks ago(waiting on a refill of the R-0009). I actually do not know what the iron content of the water is but I am on a mission to figure that out.

Rust, mustard algae or something else?

I was not sure if we had the dreaded mustard algae about a week ago. Had some yellowish debris on the creepy crawly. After slamming the pool this week and passing the overnight chlorine loss test I decided to have a look at chlorine generator and found a mystery film on the inside. I can...

    Is this mustard algae?

Ok! Is that because you don't think it is mustard algae?

    Is this mustard algae?

The only place I see any evidence of what I am assuming is mustard algae is on the inside of the wheels of the pool sweep. We have a dark pebble finish so I am thinking we will not see the algae there. I have brushed the pool and truthfully have not noticed any debris. I got the pH to 7.2ish...
