First time pool owner: In-floor vs. robot

Great to know! Thanks @Kjp300 ! What brand of robot do you have? Where is your outlet? Wondering if the location of your outlet in relation to the pool helps you run it while your auto cover is closed? I am reading conflicting things...

Water Tech Volt 550 Li Cordless Robot

@PoolRookie2020 I'm also interested in a cordless robot. Any luck? What's your current research? Thanks!

First time pool owner: In-floor vs. robot

Another question for robot users - ok to use the robot when the automatic cover is closed, which I (sadly) assume it will be most of the time?

First time pool owner: In-floor vs. robot

Haha thanks @Jimrahbe. Not looking for an excuse to buy the IFCS - just realize that's one thing I CAN'T add after they shoot the pool, whereas I could go with a robot anytime, so I'm just trying to be thorough and really appreciate your input!!

First time pool owner: In-floor vs. robot

Thanks to you both! @Jimrahbe, where is the outlet you have for your robot if they're in the pool all the time? I don't want to create a tripping hazard nor have cords visible all the time.

First time pool owner: In-floor vs. robot

Posting again here bc replied to an old thread: We are planning a new pool build, and I am having a tough time deciding on the best system for keeping the pool clean. We are still gathering quotes from builders, but my preferred builder did not see the need for an in-floor cleaner for our pool...

New IG pool build - please advise!

I’m convinced! Now what’s your pool depth recommendation? Still all one depth? If so, what’s the ideal depth for these water games? I assume it’s all relative for people of different heights. Chest deep? Waist deep? Between?

New IG pool build - please advise!

Thanks Kim! Great point about preferring the 18’ of deeper water given thebaja shelf. One thing that would help me is to understand what function we could even get out of 18’. For example, is it long enough to split into a “court” to play water volleyball with a few adults? If so, I might be...

New IG pool build - please advise!

Thanks for the advice, Kim!! Currently the steps aren't all the way across (they just match the width of the first two steps into the shelf), but they could be! Also, great suggestion about the depth! Just thought might be nice for kids to have a shallower place to stand - do you think 4'6" is...

New IG pool build - please advise!

Thanks Kim! The two steps go down to the shelf (the shelf depth is the darker checked section that is L-shaped). I just mean that there will be two additional steps that are part of the overall L-shaped baja depth that will allow people to go down to the regular pool depth. Does that make sense...

    Need new decking ideas

Does Trex have the same warmth in appearance, feel under feet, and heat regulation of real wood decking? Thanks for the input! Weighing options, too.

New IG pool build - please advise!

Hi all - a newbie pool owner here looking for feedback on design! Above is an overhead image of our current plan - covered patio on the left/West side and a small run of fake grass on the top/North side of the pool. The pool dimension is 12'x32'. We wanted a hot tub, a baja shelf, and...

What would you do with 12x32?

    Awesome!! Thanks for sharing!!

What would you do with 12x32?

Thanks!! Great idea! The only consideration for us is that the opposite end of the pool (where you're suggesting the baja shelf) is farthest away from the house (the short side of the rectangle is against the outdoor patio and the other side is at the farthest point of our rear yard). So, with...

What would you do with 12x32?

Thank you!! Excellent point about the heating time of a 12x7!! Is 6x6 enough space for 6 adults comfortably? I somehow remember reading on one of the forum posts here that it would feel tight to be 6', but I have no personal idea! Much appreciated.

What would you do with 12x32?

....and if there are any non-rectilinear design options, that'd be great, too!

What would you do with 12x32?

Hi wonderful community, I have a long, rectangular 12' by 32' space and I would like a sport pool, a generous hot tub (comfortable for at least 6 adults) and a generous baja shelf (we have young kids). We can't decide on layout (i.e., if we should have a 12' by 7' hot tub and then a 12'x5'...
