Opinions or experience converting dive to lap pool?

I'm thinking 5-6. I don't want it overly shallow. The other end is about 3-3.5 ft. Seems raising drains and filling in, but maybe there's more to it.

Opinions or experience converting dive to lap pool?

Just looking for advice, tips, etc. Considering conversion of 50x20 dive pool into lap pool by raising deep end. Worth the trouble? Probably would refinish entire pool in process, but more curious on pros, cons, costs, etc. Thanks, Jeff

DE Filter media...getting hard to find? In AZ

I pulled up splash de on Amazon ...$50 for 24#. The Amazon algorithm doesn't favor AZ for pricing. :) Thanks. Happy holiday.

DE Filter media...getting hard to find? In AZ

Just curious if DE filter media is another product that's becoming scarce. I was looking for it today. Walmart...nope. Depot...nothing. Lowes...nada. Leslie's Pool Supply...zero. Normally it's very readily available. Nothing locally. I've never experienced a time when the shelves were...

I replace the reagents and tabs continually. That's why I sent you the link. I use them...that's what I'm used to. Thanks.

thank you. sorry if I wasn't specific enough...I've had that test kit for a long time...I don't even know my model number anymore. :)

    Need to SLAM...or nuke pool

My overnight levels were sustained. My fc is well above 5 ...using DPD 1 tab in Taylor kit. I brushed all day yesterday. Last night after chlorine dump. This am at sunrise with add of additional gal of chlorine. I floated some additional cya to continue pushing up. I've taken care of my...

Slam in summer or wait until chlorine isn't being obliterated by UV?

I'm in AZ...pool is in full sun. I would drain at least 1/3-1/2 your pool. Refill. Check cya. Hopefully below 40. I had a little different issue... The past few weeks. I let my cya deplete unknowingly(I assume uv's ate it up). Pumping more chlorine than usually getting nowhere. Finally...

    Need to SLAM...or nuke pool

I did start adding cya Friday. Continued sweeping and pushing ph down with muriaticl. Into yesterday evening, I had approx 15-20 cya level and ph 7.2-7.3. I said good enough, and dumped in 4 gal of liquid chlorine. This am... Pool is clear. Dead Crud to vacuum on bottom but water was pure...

    Need to SLAM...or nuke pool

I wasn't using trichlor...as mentioned. Perhaps stupidly and stubbornly, inflationary prices on Tabs ****** me off, so in my "it's the principal of it attitude", I quit using tabs and went exclusively to managing pool with liquid. I had not thought to check CYA levels prior, assuming I had...

    Need to SLAM...or nuke pool

Using CYA with the black dot test. May take sample to pool store later. I have a Taylor kit. DPD 1 and 3 tab CL test. Again...registers nothing and didn't change complete/ free. I also have a HTH set I'll compare from time to time. PH are similar results. CL registering zippo on both...

    Need to SLAM...or nuke pool

The past few weeks I've been fighting algae, to the point were it's slimy. Perhaps my first mistake...with cost of tabs thru the roof I thought I would manage with liquid. Seemed fine at first, pool always looked good...but, For the smart people out there...and tell me if I'm wrong. I tested...

    400 gallons per day loss

yep, and today is a bit windier. similar temp and humidity in single digits at the moment. We live on a acre+ that is wide open to the elements. We feel the breeze far more than the average home in the area. I thought 400 was high also(which started the chase), but I've dug around most of...

    400 gallons per day loss

Just a follow up note, and a thanks for anyone who chimed in. I guess I've been chasing a ghost. I spent that past several days getting up and adding water to the pool at the exact same time, to the exact same level, then reading the water meter. I added about 400 gallons everyday on the...

    400 gallons per day loss

I tried using the dye prior. Around returns and light fixture. I did not see it being drawn out or any movement really. I'm in the process of doing the bucket test. Second day had almost identical # of gallons out. At least it's consistent. :)

    400 gallons per day loss

We did notice the drop rate declined when it cleared the returns last time drained. I guess that's why I suspect something. However as mk indicated out evap rate is high and I couldn't distinguish a significant difference looking at 3 years of water bills. Gonna do a bucket test and monitor.

    400 gallons per day loss

wow...that seems like a lot. Your signature indicates a 6K gal pool. Doesn't that get pretty warm this time of year? Evap faster? Our pool is a bit above 30K gallons. As the wife and I discussed, until she retired a couple of years ago she didn't pay much attention to the water bill. I...

    400 gallons per day loss

After doing some repair/patch work to a bench crack and some other annoyances, I'm still experiencing water loss. Filled pool back up this week to top of spa wall. Turned off water and waited 24 hours. Meter shows 400 gallons used to bring it back up to top of wall. We have a large surface...

    Hayward Super Pump Problem

Agree with earlier posts about capacitor. Experienced the same. I'm guessing, but could need a new shaft seal. I pulled my entire pump assembly apart a couple of times. Did replace that seal prior. Not that hard. Basically a chance to lube and check parts. Cheaper than a new motor for a...

Decking to tile to pebble...seap crack fix?

Thanks AJW. I did some prior research and read about the Vulken product. When you say structurally decouple are you suggesting removing the decking and reinstall? If I understand your argument, the decking is putting pressure on the pool wall itself?

Decking to tile to pebble...seap crack fix?

As MinerJason said, it's stamped deck, not other stone. Just large slabs of decking. However I thought the same about grouting to top. I would prefer a silicon grout/caulk on top to allow some flex and still seal. Not sure if that's the answer, but seems appropriate.

Decking to tile to pebble...seap crack fix?

This pool was originally built in mid 80's by Cameo Pools...if anyone remembers them. We bought property in late 2000. Remodeled pool in 2005. I Perhaps it's just old. Originally built in mid 80's by Cameo Pools...maybe you remember them? We'll find out more. Gonna put water back in...

Decking to tile to pebble...seap crack fix?

The deck is comprised of larger sections that extend to paver area or dirt. The expansion joints are perpendicular to pool. There is a joint at paver edge. The area of deck near pool area stamped for effect. Make sense?

Decking to tile to pebble...seap crack fix?

Thanks for responses. I can't say exactly what was done in 2005. I saw things intermittently. I was working and only witnessed certain days of work. No one brought a structural issue to our attention, so I assume they did a typical redo. We've done a bit of stuff in the back of this...

PB used Stonescape when contract was for Pebblesheen

What does your contract and bill of sale say. If it says Pebbletec...they are wrong and need to resolve. Heck, they acknowledged the error according to your post. Wrong pallet? Not your problem. That's on them. If you think it's worth 60%...maybe you call it a deal I'm no expert but...

Decking to tile to pebble...seap crack fix?

Help with proper fix/product. Started with a suspected pool leak. Did't intend to pull tile off, but hollow sounds made me suspicious and the loose tile coincide with the sidewall cracks in pebbletec. Above each of those areas is an expansion gap in the decking. I'm no pro, but it seems to...
