    My Stenner install complete!

I have been very interested in a setup like this. So far of all the ones I have seen yours has been the most simple and best setup that I have seen. My equipment pad is in direct sunlight. I suppose if it became an issue I could bury it.

    DIY inground pool kit

I used pool warehouse for my kit as was happy with them. Just inventory your entire order before you sign off on BOL. I have a 20X40 with aqua genie skimmers and have been very pleased. The surface of my pool can clear very quickly. At the time I bought my kit I didn't understand much about the...

    DIY inground pool kit

I recall reading it in some literature. I think as long as you store the panels out of the sun you will be ok. Its once you get the kit in the ground you need to work in a timely fashion to minimize the exposure.

    DIY inground pool kit

You may have already known this from your installation instructions, but you need to work quickly to get the panels covered up. The longer they are exposed the more prone they are to warping. My pool was a diy kit as well and I choose metal panels just because I knew I was a one man crew and it...

I've had it with paying for closing, need a blower...

I close my pool with two 5 hp shop vacs. I use the blower side of one to blow out all of my return lines with no issues. I use the second one when I blow out my skimmers just to vacuum the water as the other one is blowing the water out. It simply makes it go faster. When I setup my equipment...

    Cavity in New Concrete

After my deck was poured the contractor came back and filled voids similar to this with a slurry of Portland cement. I can't event tell on my deck where they fixed them.

    Building advice

I would recommend installing something similar to option two. Specialty Pool Products - Online Pool Supplies My pool has a cyclical high water table. I didn't discover this until after my pool was installed. Since I back filled with 3/4 crush rock I dug under my deck on the low side and...

DIY build is not square... (Cozy Cove is 2" short)

Also might make sure your walls are all plumb as well. Which I am sure you checked that. Since my pool was a perfect rectangle I setup batter boards and ran string lines down my walls. (I have issues with perfection). Keep in mind most of the people that install these pools slap them up and...

DIY build is not square... (Cozy Cove is 2" short)

Its been two years since I looked at my drawing, but pool warehouse indicates on your drawing where you should measure from. Are these the measurements you are following? If I recall mine was diagonal inside to inside measurements.

    My build thread-Done

I noticed your equipment pad was poured right up against your house. I am curious to know if you hear your pump inside your house. I poured my slab right up against my house and I can hear a slight hum when my pump is running. Not in an annoying way and its off the back side of our master bath...

    Best sand filter?

I am very pleased with my sand filter as well. I had an algae bloom when I opened my pool for the first time and back washed a lot. Once I adopted the TFP method and stayed on top of my maintenance I think I back washed 2 maybe 3 times last summer. This summer I am going to add skimmer socks...

    Pool Nightmare

I agree with randal106 -> Seems like a lot of work. You might be better off ripping up the entire deck. Pulling the coping and if you are good with metal work fabricate a new "top" to build it up to level. Then reinstall coping, pour new deck and have a custom liner made. I am not a...

Deck jets just installed - uneven pressure!

aside from the pluming loop I think your branches off the loop to the jets themselves should be close to or the same length as each other. Don't know how critical this is, but I do remember reading it in the instructions. - - - Updated - - - I installed mine with one valve for on/off and...

What kind of tarp would you use to cover pool equipment?

I closed my pool last Saturday but the night before it dipped down in the mid to low twenties. This was my first time to have my pool open this late because it took so long for my water to reach 60 degrees. I tented my equipment pad just to be on safe side. After doing this I would have to...

    Pouring your own pool floor?

They recommend the same thing in my area. All the pool builders say it makes for a faster liner replacement in the future because you don't have so much floor repair. One builder recommend pouring the Equipment pad, hopper bottom and shallow end in one pour. Slope in another pour. Vermic or...

switching to sand filter from a cartridge

Can you shed some insight as to why a sand filter is a mess to deal with? Other than filling mine with sand the first time I have had no issues. I think I backwashed twice all summer and never had any sand in my pool. Personally I think the sand filter is the way to go. I agree proper water...

Calling Those of you without main or floor drains

I have no main drains in my pool and I have had no issues. I have been up and running 1 season. At this point I would not add a main drain. However, I do have Aqua Genie skimmers and they return the water through a pressure throat that spreads the water out very well.

I live half way between each of you. Last year I closed my pool, but didn't have a cover on. I had a layer of "mud" on the bottom" This year I plan on covering my pool, but running my pump until the water temp hits a consistent 55 degrees. Only reason I am going to cover is because of the...
