    Black Algae or Not?

That is what I was thinking as well. I didn't realize that a vitamin C tablet would help. I'll try to get my hands on one. Thanks!

    Black Algae or Not?

Unfortunately I can't reach the bottom without getting in and it is too cold (for me) to get in. Hopefully it will warm up enough over the next few weeks to get in.

    Black Algae or Not?

There seem to more developing. I added the remainder of the bleach I had on hand to increase the chlorine level and will start treating it. I hate that a new pool has this issue.

    Black Algae or Not?

My pool was completed in October and I have noticed these spots on the bottom for a couple of months. Is this black algae? It's hard to tell with the pebble finish and the water temperature is 62 so I have not gotten in to inspect closer. I have brushed multiple times with no luck. Before...

    Pool Build - North Texas

The good news is that the start-up guy showed up this afternoon and got the pumps up and running and added the first dose of acid. I just checked again and added another dose (still really high...around 8.0). It's on the way down. I've already brushed it 2x since the pumps started. It is...

Chlorine is not being detected and pH appears to be 8.2+. I used the small Taylor kit in the TF100 kit.

    Water level in Spa?

Where should the water level in relation to the tile be in a spa with a spillway into a pool? I have always thought the water level should be in the middle of the tile but our was built to have about 75% of the tile showing.

    Pool Build - North Texas

Well, today we noticed a few issues that we are trying to get addressed by the PB. 1. Our spa is only 12" tall when it should be 18". We brought this up multiple times and were told it would be 18"...with the cap, it is not. 2. We are missing our finger ledge on the back wall. 3. We have a...
