I'm also in So CA and had a TON of dust, leaves and dirt on the bottom after the Santa Ana's. We had to clean the cartridges each day after continuously running the filter and Navigator. We cleaned the pump and skimmer baskets several times a day. It took about 4-5 days, but now it's sparkling...
