    Jandy iAqualink randomly starting equipment

Not sure the age. At least 10 years. And this happened right after those NorCal rains, so that could be it.

    Jandy iAqualink randomly starting equipment

I'll try taking a look at it. I can't see anything that looks wrong as it's installed.

The box was closed, but he speculated that the gasket leaked. I have phone app and inside panel.

    Jandy iAqualink randomly starting equipment

The other night, different pieces of equipment started turning on randomly ( pool lights, garden lights, waterfall). They come on and then go off minutes to hours later. This kept happening. The panel inside does not show the equipment on, and could not turn it off. Looking through old...

    iAqualink solar programming

Let's say I follow your programming above, but instead have Solar set from 11 am to 6 pm. That means I have 7 hours of 3000 rpm regardless of whether the water is flowing through the solar? Or is there a way to program so that when it needs solar from 11 am to 6 pm, it spins up to 3000 and when...

    iAqualink solar programming

Yep. Have those set: 2750 for solar; 1000 for filter. What I'm struggling to program is that the system will only open solar valve and use solar speed when pool temp is below set temp and panel will heat the water.

    Trouble with iAqualink?

I've been having connection problems for the past couple of weeks.

    iAqualink solar programming

Hi folks, Can someone help me with programming my iAqualink with solar heating? I'd like it to be so that the the VSP runs at "filter speed" when solar is not engaged (pool at temp or weather is not warm enough to heat) and "solar speed" when solar is engaged. Right now, I have this...

    LED lights with iAqualink

Hi folks, Anyone with a recommendation for which LED lights to install if we have iAqualink for automation? Seems like Jandy lights would be best, but Pentair seem to get better reviews. Thanks

    Dolphin M500 Review

I just bought an M500 as well. Seems to be doing a great job except the "full filter" light comes come before it can finish any length cycle. I've now run it 6 times in the last couple of days, so the pool is super clean. After 30 minutes or so, the full filter light comes on. When I open...

    Pump and automation upgrade

Hi folks, We're looking to put in a variable speed pump. Our current system is in my signature. We've received recommendations from two installers. One is to install oncommand and a hayward pump. The other is to install a pentair pump and Pentair Intellicom ll (and keep Jandy automation)...

Water crystal clear, but vision blurry when swimming

No mask. Just open eyes. For example, as I swim underwater toward the wall, I cannot see the wall until I am right on it.

Water crystal clear, but vision blurry when swimming

Hi, Our pool water is finally looking great and testing right. Had salt installed. Dumped in a ton of calcium. Took a lot of work, and thought we were finally ready. Perfectly clear when looking at it from the decking. But when you're in the water, your vision is blurry. It's hard to see...

Buying house with my first pool

Will do. Probably at least a few more weeks before I need to fill it, though, as more rain is headed our way. - - - Updated - - - Sorry: Water temp is 57 degrees.

Buying house with my first pool

CYA in a sock. Hopefully I can get everything balanced soon. I want to try it out, too, but the guy that did the pool inspection said there is no valve to drain the water out of the solar system except up on the roof. I'm not sure that's correct, but assuming it is, we can't have water in...

Buying house with my first pool

Buying house with my first pool

I thought I was doing well, but then brushed the sides today. Green clouds came off. I'm still slamming. I'm using a shock FC level (10) that corresponds to 20 CYA even though I don't think I have even 20 CYA. Should I use less FC?

Buying house with my first pool

Water was looking cloudy, but it has cleared up since I added chlorine, got rid of the debris and ran the filter. It's been nonstop rain here for a while, so there was quite a bit of debris and dirt in there. Looking at the recommended levels, it seems that my CYA is way low. Even with the...

Buying house with my first pool

Update: the water is clear again. Here are the current numbers: FC: 4 CC: 1 pH: 7.5 CH: 225 TA: 80 CYA: Less than 20 Any suggestions on what to do now? Also, silly question: what do I do with the test tube water that has the reagents in it? Drain, pool, garden?

Buying house with my first pool

I'll try to get a picture tomorrow. Supposed to rain all day though. I added muriatic acid and got the ph down to 7.5. Then chlorine just under what poolmath suggested. I'll test again in the morning. Thanks!

Buying house with my first pool

Moved in today. Pool water doesn't look good. Used TF-100 tests: Chlorine: 0 pH: 7.8 CH: 200 TA: 80 CYA: 20 Plugged into pool math. Seems like I have a lot of work to do.

Buying house with my first pool

Only the deep end light is out. Not sure what kind of light is in the shallow end. I suspect it'd not LED. The pool is close enough to the house that we would see it as part of the landscaping. I take your point about making it a focal point at night. Anyone with a recommendation for pool...

Buying house with my first pool

Got a quote for fixing the light: "the approximate cost for an led light install (wiring, grounding, potting, etc.) is $800. (for white). Approximately $1250. (color changing)." A few questions: 1. Do these estimates seem right?; and, 2. Do people use colors or just a gimmick? LED is more...

I'll start with all of these. We don't move in for 3 weeks, and will test then. Thanks!
