Debating on Robot models, do I need waterline cleaning for an above ground pool?

I just read about E10 & E20 on Maytronics website. Our E10 climbs walls, so I surmise our E10 is equivalent to the current E20 ;)

Debating on Robot models, do I need waterline cleaning for an above ground pool?

We started with a vacuuming system (Shark): awkward and pia. Second year we bought a Dolphin E10 (we call it Einstein), third year we bought a fine-basket for Einstein. Einstein suits our needs perfectly; he misses some areas, so we must manually steer him, which is entertaining and much...

    Dolphin E10 Review

Looks like an "Open Box" product to me. Maybe someone tested it out and returned it. Mine was pristine out of the box. I'd question the seller.

Location of backflow preventer for auto fill

If your irrigation system without a backflow preventer was inspected and approved (atypical) by a code official, then your autofill won't need one either as long as it's connected to and lower than the the highest elevation of your irrigation system. Ask your local code official; if your...

    PVC plubming lifespan?

As a plumber (retired) I installed plenty of PVC in houses (indoors). It lasts virtually forever as long as it's not damaged, but it is somewhat fragile when abused (e.g., over heated, impacted, support undermined/eroded, physically stressed, intense UV exposure). I would say if it's lasted 40...

    Dolphin E10 Review

I doubt Einstein would pick large solid spheres of dirt, but I have no personal experience. It picks up large leaves just fine.

    Dolphin E10 Review

Bought e10 (aka "Einstein") early last season. Absolutely love him (was using Shark)!! Got the fine-mesh filter for him, too - fabulous. He worked for us last season. He's working again right now. When we uncovered the pool a few days ago, the beaded vinyl liner had come loose in about 4-5...

Dolphin Pool Cleaners - what do you have for your pool?

We received our E10 a couple days ago. Einstein is doing great so far sans caddy.

New Filter - cartridge or DE

We love our cartridge filter!! No back washing keeps cyanuric acid and salt content very stable.

    Dolphin E10 Review

Our E10 (aka Einstein) does a 99% job on the floor and climbs the coved walls a bit; he's definitely not a reliable wall climber (our cove is not perfect either), but we have a great brush for the walls when need be, and we expected that going in. (Because we follow TFP, we have a pretty sparkly...

    Dolphin E10 Review

FedEx dropped off our E10 a bit ago (our first robot). It's working right now. I watched it work for about 20 minutes . . . fabulously boring ;) The default filter is working great. No name yet; that's my wife's arena, and she's working right now, too.

Any thoughts on the new Dolphin E10

I just ordered an E10 from Doheny.com. Eager to put it into service!!

What did you do to your pool today?

Just finished our first spring opening after first winter closing last year. Pool opened in fabulous shape. Today: Water temp = 61. water chemistry = great Wife and I agreed we really appreciate TFP; we will make another co0ntribution this year. TFP is saving us many headaches and much cash :)

What did you do to your pool today?

Pumped top of winter cover off, removed it, cleaned it, dried it, and stored it. Water is clear and temp is 52F. Topped off water level, reinstalled stored equipment, ran pump full speed for half day, then switched to timed slow speed. Continued to install new solar reel and cover; they're...

What did you do to your pool today?

Weather has been extra warm here lately (~70F high); ice is all melted. Pool is now only about 5% shaded at midday, so sunshine is really helping. Yesterday and today, wife and I removed most of last fall's debris and the brown/green water from the winter cover (broom, sump pump, and shop vac)...

Pump timer for above ground pool

Troubleshooting mode: Is any other load on the circuit? Another load on line simultaneously with motor start could trip your CB, too. What I would do? -- Wire around the timer (typically with jumpers on bus bars inside the timer); does the CB still trip when you turn on the motor? If not...

Pump timer for above ground pool

It sounds to me like your CB is too small for your pump. A single-speed 1.5 hp pump typically needs a 20A CB. When a motor starts it draws significantly more current than when it's running; that's why your work around gets the pump running. With complete name-plate detail (motor, timer, and...

Pool drained, now refilling. Now what's first and second on chemistry balancing

When I filled mine from scratch from city water hose bibbs, I concentrated on FC and circulation with a cautious introduction of CYA, which you already have. Filling took a total of ~30 hours (about three calendar days at ~10 hrs/day), so keeping growing things from gaining footholds because of...

Fired my pool guy and ready to start learning

Welcome :) I found TFPC to be so very easy after the first month or so of paying close attention to achieving chemical balance and getting comfortable with testing methodology. I love TFPC. No shocking, no greening - just keep the FC in range everyday, and water keeps on sparkling. Taking...

I loaded Pool Pal (by Pirates Love Bacon) on my Galaxy Note 4 from PlayStore, can Log "Now" and "Goal," Config my pool, but cannot get any calcs from it (like PoolMath >> how much chemical to add). What am I missing?

Pool Pump making a "Whooshing" sound (with video)

Also look into your skimmer. If your pool's water level is slightly too low, air could be sucked in there in a pulsing manner. If so the water level in your skimmer will be cycling up and down as the air changes pump performance.

Dusty green/brown silt in pool help!

All season long, about once a week I have been vacuuming up minor amounts of that silty stuff from the Styrofoam joints telegraphing through the liner. I have always thought it was decaying leaves or something; dead algae?. Never a bloom nor a SLAM. I'm religious about watching and logging my...
