Hi, I'm seeing some improvement now - the water is definitely lighter in colour but still has a green tinge to it. I'm keeping the FC up so hopefully that will disappear soon.

Thanks guys, I'm pretty happy to focus on the algae for the moment and will get your advice once that's under control. I don't love going to the pool shop! The water might have been a bit lighter this afternoon so I will keep the faith and keep going. I will let you know when it changes.

There is a pool shop that I haver had water tested at, but I've never noticed or checked whether they test for metals. Do you think one dose of algicide in December could do that? I could get the water checked!
