    Who’s Familiar with Hayward Equipment?

Thanks! I ended up with a pool builder that uses Pentair equipment so guess I’m not sorry. At least I’m familiar with the brand.

    Pentair IntelliCenter Review and Information

One question I forgot. For one that has a Mac laptop along with an iPad and iPhone, is it realistic to operate the Intellicenter with these devices? What advantages do you have with the color touchscreen?

    Pool Decking Material

For pool decking for a new salt water pool, we have been leaning towards travertine even with various warnings about the effects salt can have. The builder is suggesting we look at porcelain pavers which is a relatively new product for them. Has anyone had any experience with these pavers? I...

    Pentair IntelliCenter Review and Information

Having just read, or stumbled through the Pentair Intellicenter Review, is this system realistic for the little guy? After around with three pool builders, I’m within a day or two of pulling the trigger on a 10,000 gal salt pool, no spa. Our bid does include the Intellicenter and Intelliflo VSF...

    Septor 7

From the description from the guy with the Septor 7, it almost sounds to good to be true which means it probably is. He says he’ll show it to anyone, but I’m not interested. Don’t see how you could prove the water is being sanitized. They say you know it’s working if the PH and Alkalinity is...

    Septor 7

Does anyone know anything about this product? Is it another type of pool ozonator? Someone in North Scottsdale voiced a question on Nextdoor on whether salt or chlorine pools were the best and an individual mentioned he had been using Septor 7 for five years for pool sanitation and was very...

    Who’s Familiar with Hayward Equipment?

Does it make sense to look at the Intellicenter even for a new smaller saltwater pool with no spa or might it be overkill? I’m coming from a pool with ScreenLogic which worked great. The pool builder I’ve picked doesn’t seem to know much about Intellicenter although I believe they are quickly...

    Who’s Familiar with Hayward Equipment?

I appreciate all of the responses on pool equipment. At least the equipment brand shouldn’t appear to be a deal breaker. Now one more question as they just keep popping up. What pool deck material do you salt water users have and are you happy with it? It seems like travertine may not be the...

    Who’s Familiar with Hayward Equipment?

I’m getting bids on construction of a 10,000 gal pebble tech salt water pool in Arizona. I have been requesting Pentair equipment, but one company uses Hayward which I’m really not familiar with. As a general rule how does Hayward stack up against Pentair. On my previous pool I had a...

    A Bit Taken Back

Just met with a product manager in Scottsdale from the third largest pool builder in the U.S. I was somewhat surprised when he told me they or at least his particular office does not advocate salt water pools mainly due to long term issues with damage to decking including the flagstone that...

    So Here We Go

We had our presentation with our first pool builder yesterday. Another initial meeting today with a second builder. Even though I love my robot, I believe I will also opt for in-floor cleaning for a couple of reasons if we go with this company. First it is free ( I know nothing is free) during a...

    CYA Levels

CYA really didn’t come down as I thought it would. I dumped another probably 10% of the water to get CYA down to 70 because I was going to use up some remaining tabs I had while in the process of selling our home.

    So Here We Go

I agree it’s nothing to pull the robot to pools edge, but it takes some effort to lift it out of the pool. We’re retirees and I know my wife couldn’t lift the unit out of the water. One other thought, when it comes time to sell your home, all people are not married to their pool like many of us...

    So Here We Go

Had our first meeting with a pool company yesterday leading to a build estimate. I plan on getting at least a couple more. Things went reasonably well until I brought up the fact that I wasn’t interested in an-floor cleaning system. I told him I preferred to use my Discovery robot. He explained...

    Just Starting

We’ve moved to a new home in North Scottsdale with no pool after having a pool the past 11 years. One of the first things on my list, of course, is looking into having a pool built. Using my experiences as a guide, I have a good idea what I want this time around, for instance, I will not be...

Selling a home with inground pool

Thanks for all of the comments. Before posting I certainly was leaning towards leaving the ScreenLogic. One of the homes we looked at purchasing had no pool automation and actually was in need of a complete equipment overhaul. As a result, we looked elsewhere.

Selling a home with inground pool

This is an off the wall question. We are selling our home that has an inground pool. The pool has Pentair equipment and recently added ScreenLogic to replace a failing EasyTouch remote. Am I to assume you would normally let the ScreenLogic go with the home or would you remove leaving the new...

    I Need Advice

Thanks for a vote of confidence. I don’t think I could live with a manually controlled pool after having one that is automated. If we pursue the home I will post some pictures. I would then need to find a reputable contractor in the Scottsdale area to make the changes as it’s not a job for me.

    I Need Advice

We’ve lived in a home in Gilbert AZ with a fully automated pool/spa for eleven years. Recently we looked at a home with a pool/spa that was built in the year 2000. It is totally manual operation with a sand filter and three separate pumps for the pool, spa, and a waterfall. Would it be possible...

    Saving Pool Math

I don’t leave any open tabs on my iPad for any extended time. I’ve always closed all open tabs, but this did not erase PoolMath in the past. I’ve looked at the Pool Math app and may go that route if I can’t get this fixed.

I deleted my Pool Math bookmark. Bookmarked again from TFP site. “Put in new information. Cleared my iPad and went back to bookmark and was back to square one. New information gone.

I think the technical term for what I have been dealing with is “bookmarks”. I had bookmarked Pool Math from TFP so I could quickly access it.

    Saving Pool Math

You’re dealing with an almost computer illiterate here. I always cleared the Pool Math tab when I was finished, but when I would go back and re-open the next time all of the readings were there just as I left them.
