    Pool Resurfacing

Yeah I did see that, we are looking into it too - the pool is salt water, so not sure how well they'll hold up to that.

    Pool Resurfacing

Appreciate the responses, it is a bit disappointing because we wanted the tiles for safety (have got kids and expect to have lots of people over post covid) but also don't want to make an alright outcome into a bad one by trying too much and having to patch. I guess that means it isn't as...

    Pool Resurfacing

The build is coming along well, we only hit one snag. We had originally planned to have cap tile along the stairs, benches and the beach swimout, but they weren't installed correctly. The pool builder we are working with has been great throughout the process and explained they would make it...

That’s what I had thought as well based on reading other posts here.

    Pool Resurfacing

we had some staining and a few areas where the rebar was rusting through. Plus the pebble tech was almost 30 years old and we figured we would tackle it while we did the coping and new pool waterline tile.

    Pool Resurfacing

It looks like they are not going to remove the existing pebbletech, and instead apply the new pebblesheen over top of it. Is that normal? Are there any things we should be watching out for in the installation? The crew has been amazing, so we are really happy with them so far. Definitely will...

    Pool Resurfacing

Thanks all! We are going with White diamonds for the pebble tech and the travertine is americano. They didn’t tell us the name of the stacked stone color but just matched it to the travertine. We are doing a spray on decking over the existing (we have young children and it is less slippery than...

    Pool Resurfacing

Well today is the day, we are resurfacing our pool with pebblesheen and spray on decking. Looking forward to the process and hoping it goes smoothly. The pool is a SWG so we have to do their normal 30 day start up procedure without the salt and then add after. I’ll probably ask questions of...

Pool resurfacing and Pool deck renovation

Good morning ladies and gents, I’ve been following the TFP method for the last 5 years since we bought our home ( with a pool that is now about 24 years old). Life has been great and we have really enjoyed the experience of having the pool and maintaining via the method. It’s a 22,000 gal SWG in...

    Question for pump gurus (troubleshooting)

For anyone still following along, sounds like the motor was shot. They are going to replace it with a rebuilt motor (through my home warranty) and I am hoping it gets me through the summer. I planned on upgrading the heater/pump set up this fall anyways to get better warming results. Thanks...

8-20 inches of rain in west/NW Houston

Thanks everyone for the helpful suggestions. I tried to move the impeller, but to no avail. I have a pool company coming by today to look at it. Will update when they check it out.

    Question for pump gurus (troubleshooting)

I tried, for lack of a better term, "jiggling" a wire coat hanger around into the intake pipe but could only get it maybe 2 inches past the opening. I pulled the filter basket out and cleaned it completely then replaced it correctly. Not sure if I need to do something else to check the impeller...

    Question for pump gurus (troubleshooting)

Hi all, I had posted this as a continuation of a question I had about cloudy sand in my pool in another thread, but as my question now shifted to pump mechanics I thought I'd move it here. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

8-20 inches of rain in west/NW Houston

Good news for anyone following along. I think the white dust was just a byproduct of all the leaves and organic matter breaking down. After running the pump for 24 hours it was almost all cleared up and I didn't have to add anything to the pool. Only thing is now my pump seems to be busted? I...

8-20 inches of rain in west/NW Houston

Hey all - glad to hear most people local to the area made it through! I just got married Saturday so we were hoping for no rain, got our wish (with just a little drizzle) then left for Napa for three days early Sunday morning. Long story short, I got home late last night to the woodlands...
