Considering switching to SWG looking at Circupool Core 55 questions

Typically yes. I believe it has a flow sensor to detect if the main pump shuts off. I have had it overheat and shut down once in 4 years.

Considering switching to SWG looking at Circupool Core 55 questions

Cowboy, I don’t have a timer, but the Vsp is programmable so I usually run 2 cycles at low rpms to save on energy but can program it depending on what I need as far as chlorine goes, when I need to run the vacuum I have to run it at 2k rpms for the booster to do a good job.

Considering switching to SWG looking at Circupool Core 55 questions

We have had our pool for around 10 yrs chlorine De filter Polaris booster pump for the vacuum and a pentagram Super flow Vs looking at the core 55 seems pretty simple nice warranty don’t have to worry about timers etc. the only think I would need to do is set up a gfi outlet because...

Seriously need to cover my pool but.....

I put my cover on last week just to keep the leaves out. Will probably close it in the next 2 weeks, I did bump up my Chlorine levels and left my vacuum in so I can still run it but at least I won't have to deal with a thousand leaves falling in it every day. When I go to close I will just...

    Mesh cover and leaves

My pool is surrounded by trees tons of them, a lot of them don't drop their leaves until November so even when I blew the leaves off pieces off them go through the mess cover and then there is a lot of clean up come opening time. When we have a storm blow through when the pool is open it is...

    Mesh cover and leaves

The only year I ever opened to a crystal clear pool was the year I put a tarp over my mesh cover. Yes it is a pain to pump off the water but I am going to do it again this year because the leaves break down on top of the cover and you open to a not so clear and clean pool, at least in my case...

    Help need with Slam

Thank you all, I have not done the OCLT, I need to read what it is :) The test strips are way off in color on everything, they usually do a pretty good job of ballparking the ranges. I have added a ton of Clorox in the past 2 days. I am enjoying the new Pentair 342001 SuperFlo...

    Help need with Slam

so according the TFT kit I have FC at around 20 and no CC reading. What I don't get is why the pool is still cloudy and why the test strips show no Free Chlorine but if dip it into Clorox it turns dark blue as I would expect. I would think if my FC was really 20 the strips would be off the...

    Help need with Slam

First time using Bleach last fall my CYA levels were over 200 from years of using pool store pucks so I drained over 3/4 of the pool before closing. I opened it a few day ago and it had a decent amount of algae which appears to be gone now and my new CYA level is around 40. I installed a new...

    SWG Newbie question

We have had our pool over 6 years and before I found this website I wanted to fill in my pool with a back hoe after the first 2 years. Last year I discovered the site and started testing my water, I was one on the pool store customers that had their water tested weekly and paid ridiculous...

Hayward Tristar pump and whining sounds, replace motor or replace pump?

Our pump ran dry either last year or the year before (thanks to all the leaves) anyways it whined pretty bad. At the time I didn't want to invest in a new pump so I took it to a small motor repair shop that the local pool store recommended. To have everything rebuilt including the bearings...

    Looking to replace a Sta-Rite P6E6E 1HP pump

I would like to get the experts opinions on this pump, none of the local pool stores carry Pentairs so I will be buying online. Pentair 342001 SuperFlo VS Variable Speed Pool Pump, 1 1/2 Horsepower http://www.amazon.com/Pentair-342001-SuperFlo-Variable-Horsepower/dp/B00PKHX2BM

    Looking to replace a Sta-Rite P6E6E 1HP pump

Thank you for the reply, I looked on the Pentair website http://www.pentairpool.com/save-energy/energy-star-products.html and it looks like several of their Variable Speed models would require much in the way of plumbing, not that it's a huge deal I am pretty handy. I am not really familiar...

    Looking to replace a Sta-Rite P6E6E 1HP pump

I have been running this pump for close to 6 years http://www.amazon.com/Pentair-Sta-Rite-P6E6E-206L-Max-E-Pro-Efficient/dp/B001HNFCVG Had an issue with it running dry last year because of the leaves clogging up the 2 skimmers so I had to have the motor rebuilt. It runs now but my electric...

    Closing question about high CYA

I recently found this site and bought the test kit, previously I have been using our chlorinator for the past 6-7 years and never had too many issues other than a high CYA and the cost of tablets. We are considering switching to a salt system next year but had a question regarding closing. I...

    Alkalinity Test ?

Thank you. We had the water tested at the pool store when we received the kit just to see how close or off we were. On the alkalinity the test did change to a light red according to my wife but it was subtle not night and day. I will try without the chlorine neutralizer because I can see...
