seeking a nifty chemistry tracking sheet

I'm sure someone here has created one, hopefully in MS Excel. I have the TF-Pro and I keep a half-sheet of paper with scribbly results each time I test. thanks in advance, Jason

replacing Hayward variflo. Buy Hayward or knockoff?

I'm about to replace my Hayward Variflo XL MPV sp0714T. On Amazon, The genuine Hayward is $133 and many positively reviewed knockoffs are available at around $80. Are the knockoffs of similar quality...

O-ring & spider replacement for Hayward Variflo XL multiport

TFP'ers, two questions: 1. I have water leaking all around from under the rim of the multiport lid. I tried to rehab my existing O-ring and just made it worse. I've ordered the one shown here in this screenshot. What's with the seemingly bad recommendation to soak the O-ring in vegetable oil...

    mystery sediment identification

Hi TFP friends and experts, Just recently I'm seeing this strange sediment in front of my returns. This is in an indoor SWG pool which runs year round and has ideal chemistry. I backwash regularly and the pressure is good as well. Any idea what it might be? Jason

    Do I need a new SP2610-C impeller?

I’m replacing my shaft seal again, this time with the nice US Seal PS-3868. Though now that I have the impeller removed, maybe the culprit is a worn impeller shaft. Here are some pictures. The black ABS pedestal nearest the shaft seems worn. Especially compared to pictures of a new one! Replace it?

how to monitor Raypak 206A heater usage

Hi TFP friends and experts, Is there an easy device or way to monitor how frequently my Raypak 206A is active? I'm more curious than any other reason. As you're likely all seeing, natural gas prices are very high. Additionally, I run my indoor pool in Colorado year-round. My system is pretty...

    lightweight portable diving platform

Has anyone seen a commercially available portable diving platform? Likely hollow, lightweight, and made of something strong, like fiberglas? Here, I've mocked one up which would extend over the coping for stability and support. The concept would include an inset handle on each side so two people...

solar cover for kidney shaped pool

Hi TFP friends, I've had a solar cover on my pool for years, with a reel to wind up and release the cover. This is on an indoor pool, kidney-shaped pool. Recently, I trimmed the rectangular cover so that it closely follows the contour of the narrowest width around the slide. The new shape makes...

    Pump leaked, restore motor flawlessly?

Hi TFP friends, My fantastic 1-year old VGreen motor has been ransacked by salt water. It's connected to a Hayward SuperPump II. I think I discovered it early enough, thankfully. The motor still runs as expected. I have the full GOKIT3-SALT set of gaskets ready to install. My question to the...

    Raypak 206A - sensor open

Hey TFP friends, I powered on my Raypak heater after having my pool replastered. The LCD panel immediately is showing "sensor open". Before draining the pool, I removed both drain plugs, turned off the breaker, turned off the gas, and covered the heater. We had snow here in Colorado over Labor...

Old Aquaslide Duke slide - need deck flanges

Add another +1 to the boneheads who installed this slide without deck flanges. It seems leg diameter is fairly standardized in the pool industry at 1.9" OD. When I measure the outer circumference with a string and do the math, the diameter of my slide legs are 2.03". Is that diameter even an...

Intermatic P1353ME - no power on circuit 3

Hi friends, I bought a Circupool Core35 SWG. It's getting no power on circuit 3. I've attached a photo and a drawn wiring diagram. I used a multimeter on each circuit. #1 and #2 read 240V when the circuit is turned off. When circuits 1 or 2 are on, the voltage reads zero, which hopefully is an...
