OCLT ppm loss rate per hour

References to a 6-8 hour test are Not referenced in the Overnight FC Loss Test (OCLT) procedure. There is no target of 1ppm "overnight". The test criteria is: "If your FC level remained the same, or went down by 1.0 or less" ( when following the test procedure). The NAME of the...

    Instant Liquid Chlorine?

The recommended sanitizer is: Sodium hypochlorite (SH), commonly known in a dilute solution as (chlorine) bleach. Preferred concentration is 12.5%, 10%, or the highest concentration you can get, without adding "fluff" found in laundry aisle bleach products (colorizers, odorizers, etc)...

Help needed setting up a variable speed schedule. My pool builder and now maintenance company has my variable speed pumps running full speed 24/7.

While you wait for the staff responses, I can offer some basics of Trouble Free Pool Care (TFPC). You definitely will be well served to manage chemicals yourself. That's the concept, in a nutshell. To do that, you need a reliable test kit to help you make maintenance decisions. Test Kits...

Canister difference of Hayward Perflex 65 and 50

Hello, and Welcome to TFP! Just so I can follow your post, are asking about individual fingers, or the entire nest assembly? (I used to have an EC75, so I am curious about your intentions.) Staff responses should be coming your way . . .

What to do first with low levels

Welcome to TFP! Until the Staff gets to you I suggest adding 1 gallon of Liquid Chlorine to get your Free Chlorine up immediately. And add about 5ppm per day until you get further help. Consider your CYA 40 (round up the test results, there is no in between).

    Track for liner

This type of spline was used by a "liner guy" to repair one of my liners some years back. It sorta worked and sorta didn't. Depends on how well the loose spot can be pulled back up to the track to make a good seat in the track. ;)

    Salt volume / Pool volume

When I began my own testing, some corrective dosages were not as expected. A period of trial and error adjusting pool size got me to the right place. I had UNDER estimated my pool size. Point well taken.

    Salt volume / Pool volume

I let the Taylor K-1766 salt test tell me what the salt level is, the Pool Math app tell me how much to add, add less than target, retest, recalculate, add less, creep up on the desired level. But I'm paranoid (or, anal, or fussy) about overshooting target levels. Doesn't have to be precise...

Yes. As presented by the Original Poster. I am curious (George) though - 🐵 - A few questions came to mind as I read about your CYA ... Have you successfully lowered CYA using this process before, or is this a new innovative method that's just been discovered? Is the CYA layer visible...

    FC loss everyday, Please Help!!!!

When I began full on TFPC 3.5 years ago, I went all liquid chlorine (12.5%). The product I used was fresh, so I "trusted" the concentration (+/-), and calculations of the Pool Math app. However, dosages were not giving results I expected. I made another estimate of water volume. After some...

    Algae with No Pump

Welcome! Better minds should be along, but in the meantime... I suggest- No. Don't start a SLAM without a functioning filter and pump. While waiting for repair, you could add liquid chlorine and brush the pool to mix. (Staff can elaborate.) :salut:

Anyway to attach 1.5" pool cleaner hose as your backwash hose?

I got tired of the "run of the mill" backwash/discharge hoses. Finally thought "Trash Pump Hose"! Similar to This. Your connection choice will depend upon your plumbing. I plumbed a male NPT end on the waste line and connect the female hose end to that. YMMV.
