    Skimmer socks

I can’t even imagine what 6 dogs worth of pet hair looks like in a skimmer sock. We had our neighbors golden retriever over last weekend and between both dogs it was a lot of hair. However, whenever I see that sock filled up I’m thankful that’s less Crud in my filter :)

    Skimmer socks

Absolutely. I swear by these things especially when my chocolate lab goes in the pool. I slip these on before he goes in and leave it in place for a day or land the pet hair it grabs is incredible.

    Skimmer socks

Happy Friday everyone! I know many of us are fans of using skimmer socks and I needed to replenish myself for the season. I just scored a nice deal on Amazon for a 12 pack for $9 bucks. Same brand I usually purchase but on sale. They’ll last all season for sure. Anyway, I thought I’d share. Have...

    Skimmer Socks

I use these and I love them. Especially when my labrador is in the pool. It’s amazing and a little gross the pet hair it collects. Lol. I just bought a 12 pack for $8.99. Dirt cheap and they’re reusable. Amazon.com : 12 Pool Skimmer Socks Filters and Baskets - Premium Socks Traps Small Debris...

    Pool Math Calculator Question

That’s great to know. I only used a packet (1 pound) to bump up the FC but usually I just use bleach. So I’ll refrain going forward. I’m guessing one packet is going to send my perfect pool into a downward spiral.

    Pool Math Calculator Question

While using the “effects of adding” tool in the Pool Math app, what should I choose using this product? Is this considered dichlor?

    3” tablets (just chlorine)

Do they make a tablet that distributes chlorine only and not stabilizer too? I don’t want CYA being increased while I temporarily need to float some tablets while my SWG is being repaired. Cheers

    Jandy PureLink/AquaLink Panel Screen Dead

Hey folks, My power went out tonight and my panel screen went dead. The display went out. I can’t see the SWG percentage or other indicators. The relays are turning on and off but I believe because the control board might be dead it’s not signaling the pumps to turn on. Getting all the right...

    Dolphin Vac always gets stuck

My Dolphin Activ 30 pool vac always beaches itself on the drain caps in the deep end. So it sits there and spins it’s treads with nowhere to go. The drain caps are pretty low profile as it is so I’m not sure what else I can do. Any suggestions besides get another pool vac and hope it does not...

    Jasco Green Muriatic Acid

I tend to under dose anyway and retest because of past experiences going overboard. Frankly, with PH I can drop it down low and bring it back up quickly with my water features aerating the water. Right now I am trying to bring my TA from 80 to more like 60ish but I need more MA and Lowes is hit...

    Jasco Green Muriatic Acid

I think I answered my own question, I found another post on TFP that says to use 14.5% MA option. Correct me if I am wrong.

    Jasco Green Muriatic Acid

Hey Guys, So I have been trying to determine the same thing so I can use my TFP calculator correctly. In my search I came across Jascos FAQ page (pic attached) and they claim it is 20% Hydrochloric acid. So probably a dumb question, but if I am using the Jasco Green MA, what should I be...

    PH Levels (again)

Hey folks, I have several water features in my pool and I don’t run them for many hours during the day but I’m sure that’s always moving my PH levels up quickly. I know about borates but I’m hesitant to use them now that I have a dog in the pool FREQUENTLY. I don’t know if I’ve found a...

    Muriatic Acid Delivery

Hey folks, Trying to avoid hitting Lowe’s up for some muriatic acid and I’m wondering if anyone found any on Amazon or somewhere else that’s an effective substitute? I know you can by varying concentration levels. I usually buy 31.45 20 when I can, but I don’t mind if it’s weaker. Just curious...

Flea like bugs collecting on pool water surface

I’m in Denver, NC and they are definitely like little fleas. They’re definitely living and they clump together. It’s not the end of the world, it skins off easy but just weird. I’m shocked they can live on the water with the chlorine and cold temps.

Flea like bugs collecting on pool water surface

I’ve noticed what at first seems to be dirt floating on the water after a bad rain storm or wind storm but when I got closer it looked like thousands of little flea like bugs. All my chems are spot on. I realize we aren’t swimming with the pool water being around 50 degrees. The pool runs about...

    Thoughts on CSI and FC

Interesting...probably explains why my PH has not been creeping up. I just assumed it was the lack of running the water features. Do they make a chlorine puck, no other additives? Yes I am being lazy :)

    Thoughts on CSI and FC

Hey Jim, Running pucks until the SWG will kick on when the warmer temps come around. I think my SWG turns off at a certain temp. My CYA is around 65 but I am keeping a close on on my CYA so that does not get out of control while using tri-chlor pucks. I normally aim for 7.8ish for the PH but I...

    Thoughts on CSI and FC

Curious, TFP pool app is suggesting my CSI is setting conditions for corrosion to begin with a CSI at -0.6 is that correct? My PH is about 7.6 and my TA is about 65. CH is a little low at 250. I understand PH can help adjust CSI but I generally don’t go much higher. Thoughts or am I okay...
