    Beaded liner coming off...

Thank you both for the input, makes me feel a little better now...so do I continue filling it up, so I can get the water level up to the skimmer to start running the pump/filter? Only reason I asked is because the pool store said to stop filling for now and hope for a warmer day when they come...

    Beaded liner coming off...

**WILL RANT LATER** Installers were out yesterday to replace my half-year old liner (had a tear from their last installation). Started filling it up yesterday evening and it was about 3/4 full this evening when my wife noticed the beaded liner had come off in two spots. We have stopped...

My skimmer sucks (no pun intended)

Thanks everyone for the recommendations! All appears to be fine with the skimmer / weir / water level...so I opted in for the Skim-It. It got really good reviews and was able to pick it up for $18 shipped. It should do the job since it is 28" long, and most my debris misses by 1.5 feet. I...

My skimmer sucks (no pun intended)

Currently, my skimmer does not seem to be bringing in much at all, in regards to leaves, bugs, etc. Throughout the whole day, I may only accumulate 4-5 items in my basket, but there are always a bunch of small things still going around in the pool (sweat bees, small leaves for example). I...

Issues with new above ground pool...

Thanks for the posts everyone! Talked to the pool store owner today, and she said they will cover any issues with installation within a year of the original install. With that being said, they are going to replace the liner and re-work the sand surface while it is out after pool season is...

Sorry about that, forgot pics were in a private folder, thus not viewable to anyone besides myself! They should be up now :)

Issues with new above ground pool...

Just wanted to post a quick update...to fix the above issues, I think at the end of the season, they are going to replace the liner completely (due to the patch job) and when they have that, they will re-work the sand bottom, to straighten/smooth it back out. I will get the for sure word this...

Issues with new above ground pool...

Thanks waste for the insight. They did run a packer over the sand, I believe it was called a Wacker Packer. There were just a few foot prints on the edges when they were done, but I never got a chance to see it before they put the liner on. So as far as cutting the liner, they should have...

Issues with new above ground pool...

Hi, I had a new pool installed a couple weeks ago, but want to focus on the negative items first. -Liner tear around return jet: Before filling the pool, they cut the return in, as normal. Once the water began filling and tightening the liner to the walls, the cutout around the return started...

    Testing my tap water..

OK, so I lied last week when I said the pool will be completed...it finally got completed yesterday...GEEZ! Will get into that later. I will be going to the pool store tomorrow to get my water tested so they can give me "their chemicals" plus have to pick up a pressure hose and a few other...

The dreaded pool install thus far...

Well, the pool is complete and filling up as I speak. I will get pics when it is daylight. My big question now is what to do about rain runoff. My pool is on very flat land, but sits at the bottom of the street with about 3-4 neighbors above me (so from my pool, the ground is consistently...

The dreaded pool install thus far...

Well, we are closer...few delays here and there still. Just got another load of sand, as the first 6-7 tons wasn't enough. So there is 5 more tons of sand on my driveway; he thinks it needs another 2-3. That SHOULD be getting done tomorrow morning and then they should be able to finish and...

The dreaded pool install thus far...

It is suppose to be sunny all day today, so the places I sucked up all the water should be quite a bit more dry. So hopefully on Wednesday I will have much better pics up! I already tested the fill water and had started up a thread on it a couple weeks ago. I am as ready as I could get :)

The dreaded pool install thus far...

Before the dig (after one month delay due to rain) ----------- After digging for about half the day in mud, then more rain on the way! ----------- After peeling back the tarps...can't hold all the water back (yes, that's my shop vac) :( ----------- The shop vac cleaned up most the big...

    Testing my tap water..

The day has finally come... the pool is getting installed tomorrow!!! After over a month delay due to weather, etc, they will be out here at 7am to get it started. There is a chance of rain/storms tomorrow evening, but they should have it up by then, and I will take all the rain I can to help...

    Pool build question...

My wife gets my blood pressure up, haha! Nah, she understands more now and hopefully can be a little more patient. The 10 day forecast is only showing rain 8/10 days...

    Pool build question...

Thanks for the re-assurance thus far. I'm with you all, thinking that they are being truthful and really just don't want to be in mud. They only use one installer, which I guess is not uncommon? They haven't installed one pool in the last 7-8 days because we've had rain every 2 or 3 days. We...

    Pool build question...

Out of curiosity, is it normal for an installer to wait atleast 2 days after a good rain, to install their next pool? Are they worried about tearing up the yard or would they rather work with dirt when excavating? Or, is that BS? Reason being is that my wife is doubting their installation...

    Testing my tap water..

Thanks Dave. So just add all 3 chemicals like stated, and then re-test? Just wondering how much my other numbers would adjust, like the TA, although I need it to come down a bit anyways.

    Testing my tap water..

    Testing my tap water..

Cool! How does this order / quantity sound, to begin treating my new fill water once it arrives(basing this on 16000 gallons): The Pool Calculator is saying to add 35oz of muriatic acid to lower my ph to 7.5. So do that first, then add 66oz of 6% bleach to raise the FC to 3. Then begin...

    Testing my tap water..

Tested for calcium hardness this morning, and it appears to be in the 120-130 range (12-13 drops). Will this be any concern for me? Thanks!
  27. T

    Testing my tap water..

Gotcha, good explanation. I will post the calcium level tomorrow. Already in bed, typing this on my smartphone :) Thanks!

    Testing my tap water..

Thanks. I didn't test the calcium because I thought that was only important on non-vinyl liner pools. I will run a test tomorrow to see what that figure will be. And CYA is definetly 0, correct?

    Testing my tap water..

Hi, hopefully getting my pool installed soon (you may have seen my "rain rain go away" rant last week...it's still an issue). Decided to try out the TF-100 kit though on my tap water. Do these numbers look legit? CL= 1 (left side of tester) PH= 8.2 (right side of tester) FC= 1 (2 drops) CC=...
