Tested this morning Fc 2.8 Cc 0.2 ( or less) Ph 7.6-7.7 Ta 90 Cya probably 5-10 but less then 30 since it’s still clear and the black dot it visible. ( I’ve added small amounts half to full cup of dry cya, obviously not enough) can I link pool math results to this? so pull steps and clean with...

    Best pool brush

I have an AG vinyl lined pool, and my brush snapped (where it clips into the pole) the bristles were also falling out when I used it. It was only one year old, should I expect all to be disposable like this? what is the best one to get?

    Green on steps

Little green on top of floating thermometer too, no where else in pool though; didn’t have any issues last year, didn’t have the steps either though. I smudged it with my finger.

    Green on steps

I just put in pool steps a few weeks ago and noticed a little green around the pole at the water line. Is this algae, should I be concerned? i test ph and fc daily, ph usually fluctuates between 7.4-7.7(then I add some dry acid) i add liquid chlorine(10% hth) nightly to keep fc around 3...

    Bird poop on solar cover

Birds like to land and walk on my solar cover. I found poop on it and wasn’t sure how to handle. What’s the consensus, trap that section over pool and hose off? anyway to prevent the poop?

What the heck do you do with your solar cover?

mine is 18x24 oval AG, I fold in the width a few times on each side, so it’s like 10x24. Then fold it over itself and pull it out when it’s about 10x3ft and grab in the middle so the extra water drains out. I then place next to pool in a bunch, part of it sits in sun, it’s only of when we swim...

    Solar blanket recommendations (incl. liquid)

Thanks for the update. I have a blue one with tiny bubbles, maybe 8 mil, and after a few uses last year I noticed a few bubbles with crud probably mold or algae in them, and now there is a small hole in the middle. I’ll probably get a reel before I get a new cover though

    Solar blanket

I would think that parallel to pipe is open and perpendicular would be closed. You would close that (which looks to be the intake from the skimmer to the pump) if you need to clean the pump basket, or perform maintenance on any of the equipment after the valve. For cover size find the closest to...

@1Sammy what brand / type of solar cover do you have? 16 mil clear?

    Solar blanket

@montek I dont think you'll get much additional benefit from using a liquid cover and the hard cover. I am trying to do some research on covers myself, but the benefit is actually from preventing water evaporation more than heating (and mostly at night) The liquid cover stops evaporation about...

I am looking for a robot cleaner for my above ground, which has wedding cake steps. Is there something that could keep the steps clean, or will i need to break out the manual vac for those?

    Heat pump basics

Do I need to power off the heat pump or change the temp if I’m not running the pump? i don’t want to run the pump 24/7, if the pump turns off and the water is still below the set temp on the HP can I leave it? Would that damage anything since it would still want to heat but there is no flow?

    Return jet pushes solar cover

Hello, I have a 2 speed pump, when on high it pushes the solar cover to the other side of the pool. My understanding is that I need to run on high for the heat pump, and probably 10 hours or more a day (will find out when it actually gets warm outside). I used to chlorinate and run pump...

    Heat pump recommendations

Does anyone have any experience or thoughts on AquaComfort, Nirvana, or TTI Fabrication heatpumps? Each pool builder has there own, one sells AquaCal (which I see was one of the original recommendations). Most sites (and builders) recommend a 50 -80k BTU size HP.

    Heat pump recommendations

So my electrician who installed, said I could put the biggest HP if I wanted and be fine. So assuming I could go with one that is 20/30 or 40 amp, which runs the range of 50k btu to 120+ what size do I really need? I called a couple installers and one recommended a ~50k Btu, another said 80k...

    Heat pump recommendations

I reached out to my electrician, who recommended that 60 amp would be fine for my setup when initially installing ( I’ll speak to him and get more details this week ) In the mean time, are there brands that are good, or things that I should look for?

Question about K-2006C FC and CC testing

Wash, with soap and water? Would this stuff also need it's own dedicated sponge (or brush) that doesn't touch utensils? Also are the drops in the kits'hazardous'? I realize you shouldn't ingest them, and keep them out of eyes, but should I way gloves when testing water?

Question about K-2006C FC and CC testing

Thanks, I wasn't sure if the FC test was to test for 2 different desired results, like if you wanted to see more. So dumping into dirt outside isn't bad, what about grass? Can I rinse with pool water? I use a 25 oz cup to get a sample of water, and used the extra to rinse the tubes... Does it...

Question about K-2006C FC and CC testing

Not to hi-Jack but what is the difference between the 2 FC tests?(the. 2 and the .5ppm) Also how do you dispose of samples and clean tube, especially when doing 5 tests?

    First test with 2006c

Yeah, I'm a bit afraid of MA, is cyanuric acid as 'bad'? I do have some pH decreaser they gave me (or I paid 400$ for probably). I'll dump some of that in. Also do I need to test for salt? 2006c kit had instructions for it but no drops.
