The thing is the bubbles just last a little longer than normal . They look like soap bubbles. It's a trail behind the swimmer

I have heard the cya debate on both sides of the fence . I just choose not to add it . I mean no offense ! My issue is the bubbles I don't see how the cya can affect that ? Maybe I'm wrong that's what I'm trying to figure out .

Yes that is the filter . My friend is in the pool industry and he uses these to clear pools at the start of season . He just had it in his truck dropped it off all setup with its own pump . The water has never looked so polished !

I did try adding DE didn't seem to help at all . I'm just amazed that the cartridge filter worked so fast . I'm not convinced there was something in the sand as much as I just needed a little more to get me over the hump on this . It was a sta- rite filter I beleive 400 sq feet

Just an update borrowed a cartridge filter from a friend and in 12 hrs the pool is 100% I think the sand would have gotten me there just not this fast . I'm so impressed I'm looking into buying one . Thank you all for you help . The pool now looks better than it ever did !

Makes sense as the scum bugs are now picking up something? The sponges feel kinda slimy and full of what feels and looks like soap . Other than the cloudiness that goes away as fast as you can make it ( 10 minutes ) everything else is good . I still get suds but again they don't hang around long...

Party has been and gone . My only issue now is according to a freaind in the pool industry is I have to much oxygen in my water that is making the pool look cloudy whn you stir it up . Claims it an emzym product I used and only time will solve it . Does this make sense ?

24 hours later huge difference problem is gone ! I did find a small air leak that I think was adding to my problem .

So pulled filters apart today I have 2 inline a 300 and a 450 something about the sand in the 450 seemed off . Not sharp but very dull so I changed it . The first filter sand seemed fine no change ran a hose in it for awhile nothing came up or out . I did find an air leak on the suction side ...

When I bush I think I'm just seeing air bubbles . Would the DE with brushing be very east to see ? And when you do do it does it float to the surface ?

I did open the filter and looked didn't see anything other than sand guess I need to look again . Not sure what the DE would look like ( I see nothing coming out of the jets ). I have done a very slow vacuumed for the last couple of days with no change in filter pressure

ok went for a morning swim . Head under water crystal clear . Swim under water dont break surface crystal clear . Swim a few laps ( kicking up a storm ) water clouds up . Give it a few minutes look under water cystal clear again . Soap scum on surface covers most of surface lets say 75 % ...

For the cya are you just worried about the loss or will it do something else for me ? I just added another cup of DE and the PSI did come up a little . Make any sense to bump the FC up some at this point ?
