    Winter cover for high winds!

I'm happy with a cheap one. I wouldn't get a pillow, just let the cover sit on top of the water and use jugs of water to hold it down until it rains or snows.

"Temporary" AGPs + Northern winters. Can they survive?

We leave our Intex Ultra up all year, this will be the 4th winter and have noticed no problems. It freezes solid, just drain below the returns.

    New Build

Wish I would of saw this post a few weeks ago, I would have recommended making a water level. For about $5 you can make a level thats as 100% perfectly accurate.

Weight of Snow/Slush on a Covered AG pool

In the future I would let the cover rest directly on the water surface, you'll never have to worry about what's on the cover.

    Winter Cover Air Problems?

Getting rid of the pillow might add a little more slack in the liner.

Oops! Nearly drained my pool empty. How low can I keep it for Michigan winter?

It will freeze solid in Michigan. 12" from the top??? I think you want it 6" below the lowest return.

    Intex robot wheels "locking"

Mine too. I swapped the front wheels to the back, it seemed to help a little but I think the thing is just getting old and wore out. I'll be getting a new one next spring.

Northern IL - leave AGP up over winter? Pros and cons

My intex ultra frame gets left up over winter, freezes solid, three years with no problems. Taking it down and storing in my opinion is harder on it. Pin hole leaks will develop. I drain 6" below the returns and cover the whole thing with an oversized winter cover. It's big enough to rest...

    Cloudy but chemistry is balanced

DE, or a filter bag from Duda Diesel, they work amazingly well.

A/C Filter Cartridge not catching fine debris

Throw away the Intex filters and get a Unicel, you won't be disappointed.

    Someone slap me.... please

Where are you located? If you have to worry about freezing I think it would be a pain to winterize that main drain.

I got the Intex Automatic Pool Cleaner

I've never noticed anything dumping back into the pool. The debris is caught in the space between the screen and the flipper door. I suppose if its lifted straight up and out some stuff might get past the flipper door on the bottom? I always pull it out of the water with one jet opening...

I got the Intex Automatic Pool Cleaner

I was able to fix the problem of the swivel wheels not turning. I switched the swivel wheels with the stationary wheels, more importantly, I switched the gray plastic piece that holds the wheels. That plastic was definitely getting wore out. It works perfect now.

I got the Intex Automatic Pool Cleaner

I definitely agree with the robot being full of debris it has collected or a dirty filter with low pressure it doesn't move well. With mine, robot clean and the 1hp pump putting out a LOT of water those wheels just don't want to swivel like they used to. With thousands of hours on it I think...

I got the Intex Automatic Pool Cleaner

This is my second year using this robot. Last summer it ran 24-7 this summer is about 8 hours a day, I'm guessing it has 2000-3000 hours on it. It has always worked perfectly until just recently. I noticed that the 2 swivel wheels don't always go strait, they sometimes get stuck sideways and...

Intex Auto Pool Cleaner Stuck Wheels

This is my second year using this robot. Last summer it ran 24-7 this summer is about 8 hours a day. It has always worked perfectly until just recently. I noticed that the 2 swivel wheels don't always go strait, they sometimes get stuck sideways and drag across the pool bottom making the...

    Closing Water Temperature

Sorry for the late reply. I'm talking about water temp. My chemical levels were good, thought I could be lazy with the cool water but after 2 weeks the chlorine had dropped enough to allow algae to grow. I'm used to sparkling water so when I say my pool went green it was more just some green...

    Closing Water Temperature

Mine hit mid 60s and I thought I could be lazy and not check it for a while, I usually close when its 50 or lower. 2 weeks later and it went green, personally I would wait till its cooler.

    PAGirls New Sand Filter Saga

So what is your opinion of the new Intex sand filter? I have the same size pool and was thinking of upgrading the filter.

    Intex cartridge filters

I didn't notice your pool size. With a 600 gallon pool and a 530 gph pump (although in reality its probably less than that) you are getting plenty of water filtering, probably better than most here. With the Unicel filter getting the fine particle size the Intex lets flow through your water...

    Intex cartridge filters

The Intex material is thin and doesn't catch nearly as much as better replacement filters. I use Unicel with good success. Years ago I had dull looking water with the Intex filter, I made the switch to Unicel and discovered the Unicel catching lots of what I assume to be grey dead algae and...

Can you have a vacuum on an Intex Ultra Frame?

The intex deluxe maintenance kit is has a decent vacuum. Better yet just get the Intex automatic pool cleaning robot, best purchase I've made for the pool.

Pump not pumping well, 635T Intex filter

Don't forget to check where the hose connects to the pump, the plastic mesh can clog quickly there.

    Winter pool cover in-pool stand/support

How about an oversized winter cover. Let the cover sit on the water then up and over the pool sides. You can let the snow pile up all winter and not worry about it. I'll get a few feet of snow on the cover this way everything is just fine, no pull on the top rail or uprights.

Intex Deluxe Skimmer and vacuum hook up????????

I haven't used mine in a few years after getting the intex robot, but mine went into the blue adapter. It wasn't a tight fit but the suction was enough to keep the hose stuck in there. Intex stuff is very much plug and play so it is surprising that it's not working. My advise, get the intex...

Virgin soil is mortar sand... pool installation

If you can water it and compact it then put a tarp down or something to eliminate washout sand can be a good base. Put pavers under the legs to distribute the load for sure though.

    Intex price increase?

I bought a 26x52 ultra frame from walmart.com and just did the ship to store for free for around $600. I watched the prices for a year, they went anywhere from about 600 to 1200, and half the time they weren't available. If you have time to wait it out I'd bet you could pick up the 24' for...
