hi... so I have this aversion to leaving my sump pump in the pool sitting on the plaster. I think it might rust or stain or something. Is this nuts? should I just leave it in under the cover, with the hose and power plug sticking out?

interesting thought about leaving/getting the plumbing going when the cover is on. I am around less now that school has restarted so pool wouldn't get used anyhow. I might dump in my leftover liquid chlorine and circulate a little with my sump pump and a hose... beyond that, I suppose I'm good...

I had the same problem year 1... now I rely on a combination. mainly used liquid chlorine, it's easy to use. sometimes I throw in a few pucks, and once in awhile I'll mix a few buckets of some granular shock. This way, my CYA doesn't go too high.
